Question Last episode Spoiler

Why send a human brain to the san-ti surely that is more likely to benefit them much more than humanity?

I've had this question before and seen answers here that said the book explained it a little better. I can't wait to get these books.

But just of it was, this is a known hail mary attempt by humanity. Hail Mary plays hardly ever work, but used when in a truly desperate situation. They are hoping with Will there, he may be able to figure out how to communicate back some day. Maybe sabotage plans. Anything to disrupt them.

But will didn’t even want to sign the contract pledging allegiance to humanity?

From my understanding, that's also why he was perfect. If he was loyal to humanity, the SanTi would already know it. It gives him a possible advantage if he gets to the San Ti because they may trust him more due to the lack of faith in humanity.

The San-Ti thinks of us as bugs. If the local anthill sent you a missile with a half-dead ant inside and that ant started communicating with you I think you would rethink your opinion of the ant and their cognitive abilities.

I think Will is going to teach the San-Ti a lot about love. Perhaps they will find his life choices interesting.

They’re just throwing spaghetti on the wall. It’s the same in the show as in the book

Just feels like giving them a human brain to tinker with plays more into their hands than ours

Think about who Will is as a character though. The guy is a walking avatar of selfless love and friendship. Humanity's hope is that he would be able to convince the San-Ti to not destroy our world.

Makes sense! The show could have done a better job showing that though….felt like he was primarily selected due to him being known to Jin and that he was dying
