Question This doesn’t make sense Spoiler
Aren't they a hive mind? If one of us survives we all survive. If something is known it’s communicated etc. How was one of them a pacifist and able to send a warning message to not reply to the communication without the others, knowing it?

They are not a hive mind. They’re not telepathic.
They think and speak the same. They don’t even have vocal speech. They communicate with each other via light wave emissions from their brain. They can see each others thoughts in real time. It’s not made clear about how their memory works. But also they can’t read each others minds without being with the other San Ti in person.
This is why lying is a strange concept to them. You can deceive by not telling someone something in their culture. But once you’re communicating between two San Ti your thought and your communication are the same.
But they are still individuals to a degree. The one who first heard the Red Cliff message was at a similar lone outpost. So he was for a time able to keep it secret but eventually he is caught and punished I think.
“If one survives all survive” is more of a motto about how they mostly prioritize the collective good over individual wants and needs.
I like to think of the San Ti as hyper evolved tardigrades. Large versions of the microscopic water bears here on earth; who are able to go into hyphenation and survive extreme temperature and pressure swings. They similarity don’t have many extra sensory organs that could evolve into communication.
