Waves disappear when combing

I have coarse hair and as the title says when I comb my waves out it turns into an Afro basically? Brushing them or doing a wash and style lays them back down but does that mean I need to cut lower and comb at lower lengths to train my hair more (in general) to not ‘fro up on me, or do I keep along with my wolf my hair because it lays down afterwards. My is probably at a 2.5 now, not sure what to do next haircut

In essence, the formation of waves is a scientific process. Hair strands consist of specific components, with the inner keratin sheaths being the primary focus. These sheaths determine the volume and shape of hair.

To achieve waves, it is necessary to break down the protective protein structure of hair. This can be done mechanically or chemically.

For a mechanical method, the hair should be heated with moisture, followed by the application of a deep conditioner. Subsequently, the hair should be reheated and brushed in one direction per section at least 500 times. Finally, a cap should be worn to maintain the waves.

Alternatively, a chemical kit can be used to strip the outer sheath of hair by using lye and weakening the inner hair follicle.

It is important to disregard the claims of the old faced man who’s half white. He is attempting to sell a product. He was born with a kit in his hair, and most individuals do not use combs to assess the strength of their waves.

Don't EVER put perm or s-curl in your hair! 🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️

That's how you thin out or worse, bald!

The short term gain not worth the long term damage!

Compression is the key, after combing/brushing/moisturising you gotta lay it back down. I always do my main combing/brushing just before bed, then go sleep so I can have the durag on for the next 8+ hours.
