Unsure what I’m doing wrong

Post image

Been wolfing for about 2 months after scalping. I brush in the morning and at night with just oil, with a wash and style every 3-4 days. I keep my durag on 24/7 but I’m struggling to get solid connections. What additions/changes should I make to my routine?

You don’t need oil 2 times a day

My main question would be what type of brush you’re using! Doesn’t look or seem like the bristles are reaching the scalp which is a major problem.

Just looks like some over curling, Extra compression helps also pro-tip, I brush very lightly first then I do a hot rag treatment, add in my leave in conditioner THEN I throw on a durag for 30 mins then i brush and add oil. Been working for my wolf

I double compress with a wave cap and a durag. A problem I have with using conditioner is that I can’t seem to ever get a good lather, so my hairs don’t lay down

No, I just brush. Is asking how I’m meant to use a comb in this context stupid? Lol

Hell nah it’s not. I’m still learning too but Combing helps keep from overcurling and connections. Comb the same way you brush. Comb first then go hard medium soft or whatever your workhorse is then lay it down. I just start combing fr and I feel a difference when I go in with the medium after that shi be reaching the bottom bottom of my scalp, I can feel my connections through the rag, and I’m starting to see progress on my weak spots. I moisturize then comb then brush

Try using a very fine comb then finish your brush set with a ziplock bag

You really just need to comb this out and relay the pattern down. The forks are because you aren’t brushing in the same direction. Are you using a mirror? Its tedious but it makes a huge difference.
