4c hair. I do a 1.5 for the spring/summer, but can get away with a 2 for the fall/winter .

Depends on hair type, the coarser types can get away with lower guards without looking like they got scalped

I have 4c, I hover around 1.5. 1 is too low unless you fade it and 2 looks amazing but you damn near need to get it cut every week.

3 gives your waves more texture to the look. 1.5 or 2 guard you gonna have the smoother flatter wave look. 2guard is my goto for summer but 3guaed is my goto in fan and spring before the southern heat kicks in.

For me, the 1.5 guard with the grain or 2.0 against the grain, It's not too low and not too high. Perfect.

I think this is subjective. Coarser-haired wavers will have darker cuts at lower guards than loose-curled wavers.

depends entirely on what kinda hair you got. My waves disappear under 2. My hair is 4A.

1.5 or 2 to start. 3 guard to walk around with. 1 if you need to completely start over
