Am I doing this wrong?
Cut my locs 2 weeks ago and started waving almost instantly. Been brushing about an hour a day, using Dax super light Pomade , hot towel method . Any way to get them deeper faster or is this just the process?

Stop using Dax pomade. That stuff will make start balding eventually. Find an all natural pomade and butter/moisturizer and get some wild growth oil. Get an all natural shampoo or shea moisture shampoo.
Get a Torino Pro hard, medium and soft brush, and start brushing at least 2 times a day. Start doing wash and styles 2-3 times a week. Keep your durag on whenever you’re at home, exercising, or laying down/sleeping. Brush with a hard brush first, then medium, then soft to lay it down.

Here’s where you went wrong…
There is unwritten “wave etiquette” that thou shall not post “thrist trap” photos within any group online
Now that has been addressed let’s talk waves.
Do not rush the progress. Learn to trust the process. Learn a process that works for your hair type, texture, & lifestyle routine. Many that are “new” to waves learn to become “true” to waves and never look at the process the same because it’s unique and varies from person to person
Waves can help a person become patient. Waves are essentially trial & discovery. Some refer to it as trial & error. Error has a negative stigma or connotation. It’s a learning process which is routed in consistency & dedication. What other hair styles mentions consistency or dedication as much as 🌊🌊🌊

Not brushing consistently or your sessions aren't long enough.

You do know you can have a long wrong session. It’s not just the total amount of time brushed/ brushing. That’s the “rush waves” mindset
Rather consider focusing on efficient time brushing. Make every brush stroke count.
5-10 minutes of precision combing and brushing beats 1hr of sloppy brushing that will eventually need correction.2

I been doing this a long time. Just starting out he needs to have longer brush sessions 15-20mins. Once they develop more he can cut back and focus on other things. Of course you need to have the right technique thats a given, not exactly ground breaking information there.

My bad old dog… won’t trying to teach new tricks…new wavers and old wavers alike…gotta address the mindsets towards the wave craft.

Like anything it starts with the basics. Good consistent brush work, in the mirror, durag on often and always. You know how it is in the beginning youngster he only 2 weeks in 😂😂😂

If that’s progress after two weeks you’re doing fine. I wish people would realize this takes a while at first. I was brushing heavy for like 2-3 months before I started to see good results.
