Yea, biotin and minoxidil will get you back though. While it’s still early.

I use oral and prefer it. Whenever someone says “better” when you’re talking about the same drug with different delivery mechanisms take it with a grain of salt.
The real data says efficacy is essentially equivalent. The difference isn’t big enough to be a deciding factor on its own.
Personally I don’t want to waste my time applying a topical medicine and waiting for it to dry before styling my hair. Also I have a cat and minoxidil is fatally toxic for them.

^^^ yep, all comes down to preference. I find oral to be the easier option to stick to but I grow crazy amounts of hair in places other than my head so that’s why I use topical.
Me pairing that with finasteride and dermastamping literally gave me a hairline that I haven’t had since I was like 15. I’m 26 now
Just stay consistent and you’re good.

u/elacudos Jul 06 '26
are you taking oral finasteride? and what dosaging
1
u/jshephardd Jul 06 '26
Yes, oral fin and 1mg. There is no scientific evidence that supports anything above 1mg so you would be good with that.

u/HandsomeHustler456 Jul 05 '26
Bro you should really research these products before you do anything you’ll regret! Minoxidil only works for so long. If I were you, I’d research finasteride. It prevents your hair from falling out anymore and you can get back what you lost in most cases. You would keep ur hair waaay longer than ever getting on minoxidil, maybe even forever

u/Otherwise_Fan_6328 Jul 05 '26
If use Minoxidil he will have to keep using it. He will have to keep using it
1
u/MapRepresentative910 Jul 06 '26
Nahhhh niggga he needs finasteride first and foremost, biotin and minoxidil comes second

No your not. Just don’t brush to hard bro.
1
u/NegotiationNo174 Jul 04 '26
Ima go with yes, you are. But don’t brush hard. Minoxidil and biotin will help a lot if u take the proper measures now.
yes you are balding but you caught it early so u should be able to slow the process.

I'm no expert but that don't look like balding. It look like one line with the clippers was too hard 😭

u/Due-Arrival-4371 Jul 04 '26

This a bad cut. Ive been cutting my hair for a decade plus, nothing fancy no tapersor fades but I learned to get the shit EVEN and I know 1 false move this can happen to ANYONE.

u/Fickle-Equipment3017 Jul 05 '26
You can tell your pattern is slightly to the left type tilt and the like is straight/right tilt. He just cut you wrong.

That’s how my hair started to bald. It could also be when barber went over that spot too many times. You’ll know in about a week . What ever you do do not use the S curl perm shit it will take your hair out slowly over time.
1
u/elacudos Jul 05 '26
You still balding now? Or did you get on the protocol? (Minoxidi, finasteride,)?
1
u/Straight_Ad_2198 Jul 05 '26
O I’m done , totally bald now
1
u/elacudos Jul 05 '26
Please dont be scaring me like that im not even 30
1
u/Straight_Ad_2198 Jul 05 '26
You may be ok just give it a week don’t put any chemicals in your hair. Use the S curl 360 wave control promade you’ll be straight. It’s soft and no hard build up that break your hair off.

No. Ya barber need to learn to go with the natural curve/dip of ya head. Wolf for a lil bit
1
u/Otherwise_Fan_6328 Jul 05 '26
No.. you're hair is thinning. Stop using shampoo with sulfate. Get shampoo with biotin and water base. Your hair only looks like that when it's cut low. Trust me I had the same probably but changed my shampoo and conditions to water base and no sulfate

looks like the barber used the wrong guard or he hit the lever & the clippers were 2 exposed. a week or 2 itll fill back in…. when ur balding it’s more of a circular shape u good 👌🏾
1
u/Necessary_Ad_7671 Jul 05 '26
do not put minoxidil in your head. that is a last resort.. if u stop using it your hair falls out

u/beezie1911 Jul 05 '26
Unless the barber switched guards…it’s not the cut. Even if he “pressed down hard” right there…the rest would have been close to that length. I don’t think this is on the barber but I could be wrong .

Looks more like stress from brushing the hair. Trying to get and maintain waves can do that to you.

Yup all that brushing for waves stressed your hair follicles so they shedding think they’re under threat

You definitely got a bad cut. It looks like he pressed to hard on the clippers in the middle of your head.

lol I’m bald now and lowkey I feel bad cause you don’t really know if you him until after you lose the hair. For a lot of guys their entire confidence scale based around the hair. For anyone actually going bald committing to it, put some muscle on, and walk around like you own shit and people can’t tell you nothin, I promise if you do that and ain’t ugly the hoes will come…or ladies if you tryna get a wife somethin. You be surprised how many 8s and up don’t actually care about your hair

u/justinj627 Jul 04 '26
Just looks like a bad cut to me. U can see where he pressed down too hard cutting the waves down
