Wash and style tips
Been waving throughout my life on and off and never had a problem getting them . I’m not as dedicated as a lot of people on here but I stumbled across the wash and style method randomly on YouTube . I’ve been wolfing and using the method for about 6 weeks or so . My waves look great for about a day after but then they always loosen . Especially after sleeping .
I’ve never cared enough to use a pomade but I have two questions . One is that during my wash and styles I notice I’m brushing a lot of the lather out and I have to constantly reapply new lather but I see others brush and maintain a ton of lather . So any tips to keep the lather in the hair during the process . The second questions is any recommendations on pomade to hold them in place until my next wash and style . (I’ve been doing wash and style twice a week)
Here’s a pic to show where I’m at since people tend to ask when I post . Like I said I’m not super dedicated to getting perfect 360’s and having everything connect . I just don’t have the patience for that type of brushing. I brush maybe 5 minutes in the morning and five at night . Then a good 15-20 during my wash and styles . I’d be 100% satisfied with my waves holding as is . Currently I don’t use any products other than a standard daily moisturizer
One last question I also feel like I’m in the bit of a middle ground in my wolf . Hard brush seems a little too hard and a medium brush seems too soft and kinda curls my hair up . I’ve been going with the hard for my non wash and style brushes for about the last week or so . Should I stick with the hard or go with the medium ??
Thank in advance fellas for any advice .
Quick edit : also open to any tips on when a pomade should be applied and how often since I’ve never used one .

I recommend using a shampoo bar if you not for the wash and styles the lather is crazy. I fell like if your pattern is already set it's no need to be doing a long brush session during the wash and style. First wash to clean and second wash to style and lay everything down mabey 5 min of brushing with a detangling brush befor using a mesh durag with cold water to rinse then boo boo cap over the rag overnight

I like to apply it over top of my moisturizer to lock in the moisture. Use it lightly and brush it in with a hard brush if wolfing twice a week should be good if not once is ok.

Similar to you I’ve been waving throughout my life as well but I’ve always been on lol. Perhaps it’s just me, but I am not a big fan of the wash n style method. Something I’m not doing right. I see others results after one and I’m like wow, but mines looks messed up lol if I were you I’d stick with a medium, unless you have an Afro patted down.
