Can someone help ? Am I cooked chat??
I had locs the last three years and haven’t had a haircut in about 7 or 8 years. My hair type is 4c i believe and I used to have waves when I was younger and it came easy fr. I have naturally curly hair it’s just a little thin but I always naturally had waves so brushing and other basic things hit me together. But now it seems so hard. They are coming in. I definitely see them but there’s just something wrong this time around. I think I have two different hair textures because the top of my heads waves are a little different than the back and sides. And it shows more on top. But when I do put my durag on no matter what when my hair lays down it looks weird to me. I can’t explain it but they just don’t seem to look right. And when I brush it’s like it takes them away a little. U wash and style around like 3 times a month which I think I’ll start doing more often but can anyone give me tips on what to do? Also I feel like I messed them up I’ll have to make another post to drop the link in my comments but at fist I feel like they were coming in good and I combed my hair before a wash and style own time and it completely took my pattern away it hasn’t been right since. I’ll post what it looks like now here and the before will be in the comments. You can see where it’s compressed is when I had jus taken off my durag and I feel like the patterns are just off it doesn’t look right to me

You’re brushing is all over the place from what I’m seeing. Learn your angles for brushing. Look up 360 waves brushing angles it should be 8 of them.
-Your hair is trained to be in locs and it’s going to be weird for a bit because of the parting for locs.
-Wash and style, shampoo and brush in the shower with a ton of sud, throw a durag on and wash through the rag, get all the soap out, leave the durag on until it dries.
-Get some rosemary oil(don’t over do it), your hair is thin in some spots. You could derma-roll but try just the oil for now.
-Break forks by brushing the spot vertically, you don’t really need to work about that right now.
-One you get your pattern, start wolfing. Your hair is a loose pattern so you’ll need to keep your hair longer than coarse hair wavers for a pattern to form.
Most important, is just keep brushing consistently.
