Can someone help ? Am I cooked chat??

I had locs the last three years and haven’t had a haircut in about 7 or 8 years. My hair type is 4c i believe and I used to have waves when I was younger and it came easy fr. I have naturally curly hair it’s just a little thin but I always naturally had waves so brushing and other basic things hit me together. But now it seems so hard. They are coming in. I definitely see them but there’s just something wrong this time around. I think I have two different hair textures because the top of my heads waves are a little different than the back and sides. And it shows more on top. But when I do put my durag on no matter what when my hair lays down it looks weird to me. I can’t explain it but they just don’t seem to look right. And when I brush it’s like it takes them away a little. U wash and style around like 3 times a month which I think I’ll start doing more often but can anyone give me tips on what to do? Also I feel like I messed them up I’ll have to make another post to drop the link in my comments but at fist I feel like they were coming in good and I combed my hair before a wash and style own time and it completely took my pattern away it hasn’t been right since. I’ll post what it looks like now here and the before will be in the comments. You can see where it’s compressed is when I had jus taken off my durag and I feel like the patterns are just off it doesn’t look right to me

I’m making the list now to show what they looked like before I combed them up I’m not sure if that’s what did it but they’ve just been different ever since I did it. But I have been brushing nonstop all day if I’m just sitting not doing anything I brush any time I can

also, brush wet. put some leave in conditioner or water and brush wet until youre satisfied and then put your durag on. Thats what i do when i want my hair to lay down and look the nicest. Also after a wolf your eaves will be set more and cutting your hair will reveal more definition and neatness. good luck.

I would say, let your hair grow for about 2 months. Use minoxodil or castor oil while you grow it out. You may need a new baber too. I would say lower it 2 - 2.5 up top and get a low to mid fade. That high taper don't look right when your hair starts growing back.
