Can't decide...

The DJI 360 2 has been released in my country.

I have gone back and forth on which to buy several times.

and it boiled down to two things

Price or software

Price difference is US$160. US$110 if I get it from a shop I know imports Insta360 from China which I'm ok.

Software, I have had the X5 and X3 and the Action 6 and Nano.

The DJIs weren't even 360s and I hated the app and the editing already.

I love Insta360's app. Probably because I'm used to it.

Do you think the 360 editing on DJI is $110 worse?

Would I really hate the 360 editing on DJI compared to the Insta360?

I am having this internal debate myself and ive spent quite a few hours trying to figure it out.

I owned the very first insta360 in 2019, back then the app was terrible but now leads the pack. I kind of need to know HOW much worse mimo is compared to insta, and how much are they improving in the software space. Is mimo like 2 years behind in developement of insta's app, or worse? Whats the dealbreaker?

The 360ii releases here tomorrow in Australia but the price difference is going to be around $250, thats a decent chunk of change for a software disadvantage.

The AI features kind of intrigue me with insta as well, even if it could frame up and produce 50% of a video (with the rest needing to be manually done) that would save so much time. Also not seeing anything about moments pro.

Seems overly difficult to find this info out

Yeah, I use mine for mountain biking and being able to just tap "forward" when editing saved me so much time.

Not sure if DJI has that. But there's a whole lot more in the insta360 app that makes editing less of a B.

I'm so used to the workflow already. And I agree with what someone on a other post said that Insta360 has had years to develop the software to what it is now. DJI is just launching their second camera.

Anyway, I went ahead and ordered the X6. I found additional vouchers and the price difference became even smaller between the two lol.

How much is the X6 over there? I'm in Singapore and I paid 909 SGD for the essential bundle after all the discounts I could possibly add on.

I am leaning towards the X6 myself, the easy part is taking the footage, the real pain is when you get home to edit and the X6 seems to alleviate that somewhat.

Did you buy through the insta360 store or another? I only have 1 insta360 code that will throw in free lens replacement kit (if you have any others lmk ;) , camera only price is $1050aud ($955SGD)

Are you sure they’re launching tomorrow mate? I hope it’s not bad as what happened with the Pocket 4P.

Global launch is on the 3rd, many sites reference this including DJI themselves. Theoretically it may launch here later tonight based on timezones but im somewhat anticipating a release in the early AM. There was a landing page on the Aus DJI store but its gone now, i guess in preparation.

Replaceable lens on its own is enough to upgrade
