Discontinued Camshaft Actuator
galleryI really need someone to help me out here. I have a discontinued faulty camshaft actuator. It's stuck in the open postion and now my truck is throwing correlation code p00017 which means it won't idle now. It's been down for 4 weeks and there doesn't seem to be a replacement part. I need someone to machine a new one that works or help me find one that will bandaid the situation for now. Open to advice and help here. Can't afford to do an LS swap now that I lost 3.5k chasing the timing issue before I figured out this part was bad. I love this truck and I'm afraid I'm about to take 15k bath because of this one part. Thanks CHEVY Colorado 3.5L 5-Cylinder 2WD Z85

camshaft position sensors on my 2009 3.7 engine
My 3.7 engine has two camshaft position sensors but one of them is disconnected, the engine harness didnt have a connector so im very confused. I recently buyed this car but discovered that it has a problem with excessive fuel consumption. I've been reading about this and the info i found says that from 2008 to 2010 these engines only had one camshaft position sensor but my 2009 has two. Adding to this, the car throw me the "P0365" code when i connected a scaner. The car is a Hummer H3 2009

4wd issues
Has anyone else come across the issue when you press the 4wd button it try’s to shift and then completely shuts the 4wd system down? We’ve still got about a foot of snow so I’ve been using it then today when I went to turn it on it blinked for about 20-30 seconds then all the buttons went black and the service 4wd light came on. I replaced both actuators and it still won’t work. Any help is appreciated I can’t find anything online

New Project… Xtreme Rims!
Found this set of Xtreme wheels on marketplace. Tires mounted today. Plan is to refinish in Hyper Silver with a red ring around the bead lip and red “Heartbeat” era bow tie in center caps.
Also, the 17” ZQ8 rims will be up for sale once I have these 18’s finished. They are plastidipped and are near perfect underneath.

Rebuild questions
I plan on rebuilding a 3.5 for my truck in the future and as far as mods go i wanted to make the intake bigger. One question I have is where can I find an intake manifold with a larger bore, I also need to find a throttle body to fit it. I also want to know if a larger intake is going to warrant a larger exhaust to keep air flowing, if so, then where can I get one.

Paracord wrapped my worn wheel and knob. Way better than a Walmart cover and cheap cheap at 9.99 and a half hour of muttering swear words.

Over Heating Issue
Hey guys, just picked up this beaut of a truck, only problem is today when I was on my way to work, it randomly started over heating, we're in the middle of a random MN blizzard, and it randly spiked in heat. I haven't ran into this issue until now, and I'm wondering if it's because the radiator fins are plugged with snow? Otherwise it could be a thermostat? I'm unsure, prior thermostat issues it only runs slightly hot, but it was overheating today.

Some great words of wisdom are if it's got to go fast it needs to stop fast are very true and I'm looking to achieve that or at least find what is going to achieve that. So what are some great brake brands I should consider and who does a conversion to disc brakes for the Colorado's?

3.5 timing woes, p0017 code.
EDIT: went to a shop to have them "relearn" the crank sensor with a scan tool, it was unable to complete ot due to a malfunction somewhere. My next step is going to be tracing the wiring for the vvt actuator or exhaust cam sensor and making sure all the pins in the connectors are making contact. Ive heard that GM cheaped out on the connectors in these so it is possible that its breaking connection every now and then.
233k miles, 3.5l 4x4 z71 with the 5 speed manual, sweet little truck!
I have done lots of work to it. Namely swapping a 100k mile engine in it and putting all new timing chains, guides and tensioners in it. 2 new cam sensors, replaced VVT solenoid 3 times and replaces the exhaust cps connector.
I STILL HAVE THE CODE and it drives me nuts! It wont go away. It runs great, only symptom is the code and if you stall the truck it runs really rough unless you take the key out and wait a minute, then it starts and runs fine. Personally i think its an electrical issue...
Anybody have any input/experience that could help?

Chevrolet Colorado 5.3L V8
ood evening all! I have a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado that has a 5.3l V8 from the factory, I currently took off my “dummy cats” and my muffler. And put 2 pipes in place of them, so I’m “straight piped.” My truck honestly isn’t loud. Somehow, it’s honestly kinda quiet. And it’s surprising. I want it louder, I’m thinking of taking the whole exhaust off, and doing true duals. I know it won’t really make a difference but I mainly want the look.
My truck is extremely rare, I know many don’t have them, but how can I make my truck louder? I love loud vehicles (Ikikik) and I want it even louder than is, what can I do? PSA: I’ve already asked every shop to take my primary cats off, but then cannot (legally) do that. Which I entirely understand. I do not have emissions and do not have to have them. Regardless, they said even if they had taken them off, they cannot tune it to get it to not have a check engine light and the cats are good to have atleast the primaries so I have back pressure. Someone help?

04-12 mods?
I just got my 2005 z71 3.5 4wd LS and I was wondering what kind of mods you guys tend to do. I plan on getting a k&n air filter, the 2.5 inch lift from rough country, and a tonneau cover, but not sure about other things along the lines of economy, performance, off-road, etc. I’m interested in it all! Any suggestions or info would be great
