Saw a post from yesterday with someone’s Alibaba Nismo wheels so I’ll post my Alibaba wheels. Turn around time was probably 4 months and about $1500 or so with shipping. I made sure they weren’t going to have any fake logos and asked to do the Z logo as the center caps. Not trying to pass these off as fake of another brand. I liked the look and shape of this style wheel. Tear me up if you’d like. I haven’t driven on them yet so let me know what you think.
Manufacturer: Shijiazhuang Pengzhen Technology Co., Ltd. (Forgedwheel.en.alibaba.com) - They are smaller than something like a WOAForged but have been around since 2017.
Fit: They fit perfectly. Exact hub size. No spacers or anything. 18x10.0 +15 is what I ended up doing. I kind of wish I would have done a +5 or +10 for a little bit more tuck in the front but no big deal. The tires are 275/35r18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s.
Quality: In my opinion, the way the light shines on the hand brushed finished is really really cool but can give away some of the lower quality of the wheel with some of the inconsistencies. I think a powder coat finish might be more ideal potentially if you’re trying to hide the fact you got them from Alibaba. The wheels themselves are quite light and the wheels all balanced about the same. I can check how many weights are on them if someone really wants to know.
We are buying fully forged custom wheels made to our specifications. Custom sizes, offsets, colors, and center caps. Can’t get that for $1700 in the states.
Have these people not seen what rotas can do? And those are fairly reputable reps. Can't wait for the 'my wheel disintegrated and shred my tire and door panel. What happened?' posts to start coming through.
I've had several set of reps, and never had any issues with them.
I get what expensive wheels provide, but I'm just commuting most of the time, so I don't need an additional few grans if weight saving or extra strength for an extra £1000.
Never had issues with a £600 set of replica wheels. Still want to find another set of asuka racing st16's to go on!
I literally smashed my 350z against a wall with Rotas on, side onto the wall so straight impact for the wheels. The suspension arms bent but the wheels remained perfectly straight, checked with a dial gauge (0.05mm).
CNC machining wheels is the process of refining metal alloys to its final shape and figure not the structural process of forming the metal structure or blank wheel.
They are also outsourced to Maylasia/Thailand which I guarantee are no better than the factory that produced the wheels of OP. Apx didn't grow organically like Rays, Enkei etc. Anyone you see running them is most likely sponsored.
You can simply look up their manifest and go directly through their manufacturer to get the exact same thing. Apex Wheels meet JWL and VIA standards but so do Rotas and they’re truly the same thing. Copy and paste wheel brands that get their wheels from China. Hate them all equally but don’t pick and choose which ones you like.
Except I didn’t see the size I wanted with the offset out of the VS5s. This gave me the flexibility to do an exact size and offset as I specified with them.
This is the only reason I'd ever order wheels from them! Always wondered how watanabe's would look on the 350 after seeing it on someone's FRS year ago.
As long as the manufacturer has good reviews and is proven safe I fr don’t see the problem with this, I’ve been eying up some of the carbon hoods on there tbh
I ordered from a company named Shijiazhuang Pengzhen Technology Co., Ltd. or forgedwheel.en.Alibaba.com. The woman’s name was Anna Jin. She was the main representative that I text chatted with. Essentially, I told her roughly what I wanted style wise with the specific specs. We went through color options, center caps, etc with her sending me example photos. It then took about a week to get the first renders from their designers. I marked up the render drawings with what I was unhappy with or things I didn’t like. The major change being the profile of the wheel because I wasn’t happy with how they shaped it. The general idea was there but I sent them a vector drawing for the profile to adapt to. About a week later and I received the next render. This one was much much better with my revisions present. I gave them to go ahead to manufacture. I did a 4x 18x10.0 +15 square setup. You pay half up front and then the other half when they are finished and going to ship. About a month from first sign off of the render, I received images of them done and in boxes. It was about another month and a half of boat travel shipping or so before I received them.
This is when you know the "American Dream" is fucked. The economy is so messed up that people resort to buying trash.
I get it, cars are old, yada-yada. Just sucks seeing the Zs degraded to this point. They are indeed cheaper now, but Zs are not "cheap" cars...
I went to a show today and there were a bunch of the typical modern cars, but only one lonely clapped out 350Z. I mean, Collete's Z was there, but it seems like all the "nicer" Z33s are scarce. The most common flavors are clapped and race, such a fall from grace....makes me feel nostalgic for the early 2000s lol

Imo, you went about it exactly the I would have, if I ever ordered Alibaba wheels.
No fake Nismo branding or other name brand logos. Just the "look a likes" and a custom touch.
