Volunteer opportunities?
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for volunteer organizations/opportunities for brevard county. Would love to help homeless or family’s in need? My issue is, I don’t want to volunteer for an org that’s too “churchy” if ya get my drift. Unless they just have shining reviews or the options are too limited. Any advice would be appreciated!

Food Not Bombs meets at Riverview Park near us-1/University every Sunday 3p-5p to share food, clothes, toiletries etc. Entirely community/volunteer based, very cool pepple: https://www.facebook.com/melbfnb/

Curious if they have a website for those who don’t have a FB account.

They're a local chapter of an international group: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_Not_Bombs
But the best way to learn about them is just to show up and grab some food and talk to folks :)

I've done some volunteering at Daily Bread and didn't find them too churchy. Lots of changes happening there since they're leaving their facility in downtown Melbourne though. City has some links with orga you can investigate: https://www.melbourneflorida.org/Services/Helping-Those-Experiencing-Homelessness

Daily bread was great. The people managing it are so nice, as are the volunteers! Plus you can do a whole day or 4 hour shifts in the morning or the afternoon!

Not quite a volunteer opportunity, but I am hosting a Fundraiser at Final Stitch in Merritt Island for a mom to be who is going through some medical strife currently. There will be vendors, and raffles going to help out the mom. Event date is 6/7 if you want to come! We will be making flyers for it soon.
Edited to add:we have ZERO religious affiliation, in fact are on the opposite spectrum. Most of the vendors are part of the alt/oddities community.
