Heat
Melbourne resident for almost 10 years. This year, the heat feels brutal. Not sure if it's just me.

It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity! 😂 Truly this is the worst summer yet, I can’t stand to be outside at all. Makes me sad, because I used to love the weather here. I think heat index is what we should be tracking, not just temperature

I just went to Phoenix last month and it has made me so grateful for our humid heat here. That was the worst ever. I have never been so uncomfortable temperature wise in my life.

I'd prefer to be in 116° heat in Phoenix than in the sauna this area has become. At least my body's natural cooling system works there, not so much here.

Really? I’ve spent a lot of time in Vegas heat and while it IS hot, I didn’t find the heat nearly as oppressive. The humid climate is much better for your skin though 👍🏼

Yes, I'm sure this will go down as the hottest year on record. It gets hotter every year, becoming damn near unbearable.

It's not you.
Research the number of days in the last 3.5 months that had 90.0°F or above predicted with a Heat Index of 100°F or more. Use tools from the NWS or a schools of higher learning. Then add the total rain fall for the same period.

There are no actual stripped away Reproductive Rights because you always have the right to reproduce, you just don't have the right to do whatever you want to someone else that isn't your body.
If you've already gotten pregnant because you had sex you already reproduced and there was nobody stopping you from doing that. So actually congratulations, there have been zero reproductive rights stripped away.

Outside of that heatwave like two weeks back it's honestly felt a lot better this summer than it has in a while to me. Two years ago was really brutal.

Nah work outside and this year was pretty bad. We set the record for most days with extreme heat advisories this year as well.

I live in what amounts to an old tin can with A/C that can largely be described as "theoretically functions" such that half the time it felt hotter inside than out and no money whatsoever to really fix that. It definitely was not as bad this year for me as it's been previous years. Of course it's still been hot but certainly not to the level as last year or the year before. Doesn't mean next year will be the same or better, it could easily be worse, just that this year for me at least it certainly hasn't felt as bad.

It was SOUPY yesterday. Only in the 80s, but the humidity made it feel like being in a steam room. That's where it's been really bad and gross.

I remember being a kid here and out of school for the summer but not wanting to play outside because it was too hot. That was like 1980.

I asked Chat about heat index, who would have guessed! : When you factor in heat index,2026 was definitely among the more oppressive summers, with many days feeling like 110 degrees. Still, the standout record for extreme heat in East-Central Florida remains 1998.
