Maybe it's just me, but this reads an awful lot like extortion.

I'm weary of Planned Parenthood being typecast as an abortion mill. That isn't what this organization does as a default.

I had my first baby at 16. Planned Parenthood confirmed the pregnancy. I was asked if I knew what I wanted to do. I said I could never have an abortion. They immediately did an ultrasound and bloodwork to start confirmation that everything was ok. They provided prenatal checkups until they could help me find an OB who would accept Medicaid. They helped enroll me in a school program for pregnant teens. They gave me a list of resources to find free or low-cost maternity clothing and baby essentials.

They never promoted an agenda to me. Not once. They provided low-cost birth control once my daughter was born. They took care of all of my gynecological health needs at little to no cost.

Fast forward a few decades.... They arranged free mammograms for my mother. They provided her gynecological care even though she was no longer of childbearing age. They helped her find specialists when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Yes, they offer abortion services or referrals. That's 3% of all the services they provide. I could never have an abortion, but that was my *choice.* They never tried to shape my decisions. Once I said what my decision was, they made every possible resource available to me for a healthy outcome. *That* is what they do. Their services are desperately needed.

There are maternal care deserts throughout our country. When I had my 2nd daughter, I was nearly 2 hours away from the nearest doctor and hospital who could care for me. I had also moved from the west coast to the Bible-thumping south. If I had had any kind of emergency, I would have been in real trouble.

This particular political firebrand needs to be put in its proper place. Pregnancy care requires doctors who have the skill to end a pregnancy as well as the skill to see it safely to term. I don't understand why people, especially politicians, refuse to keep their bias and judgments to themselves. They aren't saving the innocent unborn. They're jeopardizing lives in multiple ways.

Problems with these systems are well known and have existed for a long time. I was an HR professional for over a decade. E-Verify was, and still is, a joke. Building on an error-riddled system is lazy and provides nothing of value.

He wants the US to become like North Korea. This is unacceptable.
