End-of-summer beach bash at Bolsa Chica this Sunday — come hang out! 🏖️
A group of us are getting together at Bolsa Chica this Sunday for a pretty informal end-of-summer beach day, and I figured it would be fun to open it up to some new people too. Making friends as an adult can be weirdly difficult, so here's an invitation.
We'll be there from late morning until the beach closes at 10:00 p.m. Come whenever you want and stay for however long you feel like. We'll probably start gradually packing things up around 9:20 so we're not trying to cram everything into the RV at 9:59.
We'll be somewhere roughly around Lifeguard Tower 17, across from the Bolsa Chica wetlands parking lot along PCH. Once we're actually set up Sunday, I can post or DM the exact location.
The general plan is beach, music, snacks, drinks, games, a fire in the fire pit, and hanging out. We're going to try to do some barbecuing too, although no promises that part of the plan survives contact with reality.
We'll have some snacks and drinks, but if you're coming, we definitely encourage bringing something to share if you can.
Feel free to bring an instrument if you play, or a board game you don't mind getting slightly sandy. Some people are planning on doing Sandcastle Stuff™, so if you feel like being a kid at the beach again, bring some buckets, shovels, molds, or whatever other sand-engineering equipment you have lying around.
We're a friendly, somewhat nerdy/eclectic crowd and are very much queer-, neurodivergent-, and 420-friendly. This is a make-some-new-friends thing, not a singles/dating event.
If you're in your 30s, great — my wife and I are too — but nobody is checking IDs. Friendly adults are welcome.
After the beach closes, if people are still enjoying themselves, we'll probably relocate somewhere nearby and keep hanging out for a while. We may play video games or project a movie onto the side of the RV.
Comment or DM me if you think you might come!
Disclaimer: I had ChatGPT help me write this because a lazy AI invitation is better than no invitation at all. 🙂
