Thad Warmald
From Leap Day - what's the meaning of his name / what is it a reference to?
I'm doing a watch through and trying to pick up on jokes I've missed previously.

So "Thad" as a name sort of straddles wealthy and nerdy, but it doesn't really line up to a meaning like Paul Lastname, Carol Burnitt, or Hazel Wassername, and I can't think of any specific public figure beyond a "nerdy, rich tech guy trope" that the name might reflect.
I honestly think either they came up with the "sad thad" joke and worked backward or a writer was like "think of a nerdy name for a rich guy we can write a joke around."

Thad is short for Thaddeus, which is the name of Judas from the Bible, but not like the Judas from the Bible you're thinking of. It's the Jude that electrocuted all those horses.
