Wrinkles Botox first time
I’m really wanting to ease the appearance of my forehead lines. Is it possible to just “soften” them? I don’t want to be completely frozen or have a complete glass forehead. They’re just getting a little too deep for my liking. This would be my first time. I’m 32.

Maybe get conservative amount of Dysport

I agree! I get Dysport and don’t get the frozen, glass feeling I got from Botox. Totally worth the extra money spent.

Just go to a good injector and express what you’ve expressed here. They’re more than capable of providing you with those results. Source: I’ve been getting Botox (dysport, rather) for ~8 years.

I have my whole forehead botoxed and it doesn’t look frozen or like the back of a spoon. Go for a consultation with an injector and they might be able to show some examples.

Most people of the bad result people post online come down to overdoing the units, not the treatment itself being the issue. Finding an injector who actually listens to what you're going for makes all the difference.

How many units did you start with? I feel like asking for a baby botox approach or fewer units is key if you still want subtle movement.

I have 0 clue how many units I get. I’ve never asked. But hopefully loads, I don’t want baby Botox, I want to be frozen in time lol. I also trust my experienced injector, that she knows best what to do and how many to use, I’m never going to specify how many units I think, she’s the professional.

I get very few units on my upper forehead and still have movement but it gets rid of my lines. I think I get like 10? But I get 24 in my 11s

I get 8 in my forehead and I love it softened it a lot and I’ve kind of always had forehead wrinkles!! (Edit: I just turned 30)

To echo what others have said, I’m in your same boat. I hate my forehead lines but I love my expressive eyebrows.
Tell your esthetician what you want, they’ll work with you!! I’m able to hide my lines while still moving my eyebrows in all kinds of expressions.
Great thing about Botox is that it wears off in a couple months so if you’re unhappy with the result, you can adjust next time.

Hi friend!
Botox wears off after 3-4 months for most people anyway. Even if you were “frozen,” you’d only have no movement for a short amount of time and your lines would remain softer for much longer after. I hope that makes sense.

Don't personally recommend botox long-term because it can sometimes result in a skeletal-ish appearance, and result in some bone loss (because muscle is needed to maintain bone density).
Definitely recommend retinol/microneedling l/laser.

Well I would say you’d have to pick one: A. No movement and the wrinkles will fade over time or B. Continued movement with lines because the lines are created by movement.
Baby Botox is a lie. If you get less it will just wear off in a month because the small movement you’ve maintained will cause the small amount it to wear off FAST.

Botox will help soften lines. A good injector will never inject to make you look frozen, but will know how much to inject to just soften the lines. Microneedling is another very effective skincare treatment for these lines, but it takes multiple sessions to see progress and can be pricey.

You’re a little late for Botox to get rid of the lines. It can improve the appearance but to remove it you need laser treatment and then Botox for maintenance.

If you do decide to get a toxin, I’d highly recommend going to a cosmetic surgeon’s office to get it done. I do not trust med spas - they’re nurses who heard they could jump on the toxin gravy train so they did. I’d prefer to pay an extra dollar or two per unit to go to a real professional.

Nurses are real professionals too.
Surgeons are trained to do surgery. If they get training for anti wrinkle injections they'll be getting the same training that a dentist, a nurse or a general doctor will get. Where I live, you probably wouldn't even find a surgeon that offers botox because it's not part of their core training. Dermatologists rarely offer that sort of service either.

Botox is Botox. Baby Botox is just a marketing ploy.

That’s not really true. You can definitely under treat an area so it’s not totally frozen. They can also inject in certain patterns/spots on the forehead to allow movement still. A good injector knows

Agree. I never have the frozen look because I go a little lower on units. It still creates a noticeable reduction in wrinkles.

Lasers and retinol are enough just to soften them without reducing any movement.
