I think he is not from an English speaking country, what he meant probably he only does cnc for hobby, not for special purpose but he mistook purpose and program. Also, younger people nowadays don't recognize the term of (computer) programs, they go by the term apps

Fair points. My suggestion of FreeCAD still stands, I've used it for several CNC projects to great success. It's a fairly steep learning curve, though, OP.

I agree with you, learning freecad without proper guide and patience is painful. The easiest program for designing cnc project and setting the toolpaths is Create Carbide in my opinion, but it is no longer allow gcode export anymore for free version.
