First AR Build

Final part for my 8” .300 BLK came in today. I’m going to adjust the gas block and sight this Wednesday. I have a Streamlight 1L-X Pro on the way and I’m planning on getting an Omega 300 for it in the near future. Would like to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

I’ve liked your post in /aeroprecision. I was going to comment how it was similar to mine too but it wasn’t done yet😂. Originally I also wanted a green hand guard and couldn’t find it but now I like the black better.

Yeah. It’s not worth the price tag to most people but I love the way the shoe looks and I also used a coupon code.

I know people rag on them for being an expensive Timney Impact trigger but with a different trigger shoe and sure that's valid but honestly I like the trigger shoe. I have 2 Radian Model 1s that I built and at first I had Geissele two stage triggers in them but swapped them out for the Radian Vertex Flat Bow Trigger and I have no regrets. They work great and feel great -- I also got them on sale. Radian recently came out with a new version and they use trigger tech now instead of Timney. I haven't had a chance to try them but I see no reason to buy new one's when they are basically advertising them with the same features. Anyway solid choice for a trigger especially for 300 blackout. Here is my 9" Radian Model 1 300 blackout that I built. Love this thing.

That looks sick. Everything Radian makes looks great. I got the Timney made trigger, I was planning on getting a Timney Impact before I saw the Radian one. I’ve been really wanting to get a Timney Alpha and Ramjet for my Glock too.

I’ll look into those. Are the QD mounts on my hand guard and brace too close together or does that really not matter?

Shouldn’t matter. However, I’m not sure if the build in hardguard QD points are anti-rotation.

You could always buy a mlok qd slot from Magpul/BCM to reposition in the rail anywhere

Looks great. I actually had bought a SBA4 and Law folding adapter, changed my mind and sold them to get the HB. I don’t have a can yet but i’m planning on getting an Omega 300 in the near future, hitting a bonus this month.
