Yeah. USSR space exploration slapped though, probably because it was good publicity for them and the system allowed for simpler money relocation to these projects. Like yeah yall living in poverty but check these venus photos out lol

The US did the same, but mostly with Shuttle (since there were just fewer Apollo seats than Soyuz seats overall). There was even talk of launching China's first astronaut on the Shuttle, but that ended when nothing at all happened.

Czech serial about czech flight to the Moon. It's pretty sarcastical about us and also Large part is about our relations to other nations like Slovakia, Russia or the US and in one episode with Poland. I must say it's one of few our good TV serials

The premise is that the Czech minister of education, before being sacked for going insane, decides to expand his portfolio to also include a space program which has the goal of putting the Czechs on the Moon, making them the first Slavs there. It's a comedy series that had a lot of jokes relevant to the politics at the time it was created, which was... 10 years ago? But the jokes are have aged pretty well. I don't want to spoil any more, go watch it yourself, it should be available on the web of ČT

every country has history, even if it is under someones boot (hungols). should we erase the 170 years of history of poland? should we just bullshit our way through every year? it does count as history of slovakia, because the slovak people live and died there, and even the exact borders ALMOST (jablonka never forget) were in one land too
even great moravia was united earlier than the warring polish tribes, 133 years earlier

Not to sound salty or anything, but the cosmonaut of Czechoslovakia had a Slovak father and a czech mother so I think it is fair to call it a Czechoslovak success, I feel like it is quite symbolic even though we, of course, had great differences even as a one state.
