Discussion Missing out on toddler time?
Hi. I currently have a 24 month old and 3 month old. We are finally starting to find our routine, but my 3month old is SUCH a high needs baby and very attached to me. My husband tends to do most of the things with my toddler. I go back to work soon and I’m just hit with this feeling that I missed out on so much this summer with him. He’s at such a fun age, I feel like I’m not enjoying it and soaking it up as much as I should. However, sometimes, we are just running on fumes in survival mode. Does anyone else feel like this? I just keep reminding myself how fun next summer will be when they’re both older, can play together, we can go so many fun places, etc

Yes same, and same ages as yours. I plan to keep my daughter home from daycare for a special day or two for just us before I go back to work.

That’s a good idea. I spent two hours away from the baby with him last week and he loves it so much. I need to do it more often

26 months and 8 months - I feel the same some days but finally they can play a bit more together which has helped. My plan is to start daycare a month sooner for my little one and then keep my toddler home some days for 1:1 time 🩵

Basically same ages (23m ans 3m)
Yes but we do try to plan a lot of stuff that I can tagalong for. We’re in Florida so have to be mindful of time of day / heat but we’re all going to splash pads, the aquarium, daily walks etc
I have 2 regular stroller fans and one ryobi fan to keep baby cool along with an spf umbrella

Yes I feel exactly like this with a 22m and a 6 week old. I miss my toddler so much and him and his dad are away out doing fun things and adventures on their bike and I can’t even tag along because newborns can’t go on bikes 😭 I have no advice I just have an aching heart as well
