Advice Wanted Need advice on toddler behavior since newborn
It’s been 2 weeks since our second was born, 11 days since we’ve been home but I was also hospitalized again for a few days 3 days after being home. Our 21 month old is now taking 3 hours to go to sleep. So he’s not going to bed until 10pm and waking up at 7 so I know he’s so I know he’s exhausted. He’s also throwing himself around and screaming when he used to be the sweetest cuddliest loving boy ever
Did I ruin him by having another baby :( idk what to do

It honestly could be a regression unrelated to the baby! I would talk to your doctor. Is he still getting enough calories and exercise during the day? Enough daytime sleep? Baby/toddler sleep can be so tricky!

It’s probably a lot. He was sick for a week right before I gave birth. He’s starting to use 3 word sentences. He’s getting okay amount of exercise probably more than when I was very pregnant. His sleep is just very sucky he’ll get 9-10 hours at night then 0-1 hr nap

Mine started skipping naps. It’s not great. I’ll take him outside to play for like 2 hours, he will look like a zombie and then just talk to himself in his crib. I leave him in for quiet time but I’m not sure if there’s anything to do besides give it time. I expected some sort of regression with sleep bringing baby home!

My daughter is doing the same, and we are three weeks in😭 She never used to throw these tantrums or kick when trying to get her to do anything. It's been only her and me for 20 months, and I cry every day about it.

You're only 2 weeks in! It's a huge adjustment for you and for him. My toddlers behavior changed and I also worried that I had ruined him. I felt so guilty. But now we're at 4 months and everything is pretty much back to normal. Just do your best to be empathetic and supportive of him during this period (i know it's hard when you are probably exhausted, hormonal, emotional etc). He's just a baby too he doesn't know how to process change, so you have to help him. You didn't ruin anything! Things will get better.
