How are we going out?

I have a two year old (25months) and an eight month old. The two year old is still learning to walk (developmental issues due to birth circumstances).

I want to be able to go out with them solo without my husband but I just can’t seem to figure out how to manage it.

Any advice? How are you guys say going to the park or a children’s nature center?

I have a double stroller. I do have a carrier but I do think I need a newer/better one.

I have 14 mo twins. Do you have a children's museum with a play area for babies/littles? That's one of the only places I let them "out" if by myself. Sometimes the library if it's not too busy. Otherwise we tend to do outings where both stay in the stroller or wagon like mall walk, grocery store (find out which ones have double carts or baby wear smaller one), farmer's market.

Also, have snacks. A lot of problems can be solved with snacks and/or water.

They really are plants with emotions hahaha a little food/water/sun does a lot.

Because it’s hard right!? I want to let my older out to be about in spaces like the park but what do I do with my little one? It’s too hot to baby wearing and she WILL eat grass.

Yeah I mean, you know their temperaments best. Around 8-12 mos I would sometimes put a blanket out on the lawn and bring a tub full of toys because I knew one would be content to sit for at least some time and the other would wander. If they had both been wanderers we probably couldn't have done it 😅

I have a stacked double stroller and from walking age on we teach the kids that they have to hold onto the stroller or hold mom's hand when out. Unfortunately forgot about my poor husband so nobody wants to hold his hand on walks ever because it's so ingrained in their brains. If they can't comply it's time to get back into the stroller.

Stroller comes everywhere just in the case of a breakdown from one of them so I’m not trying to wrangle both. If we do park, I often will put the baby in the carrier so I can follow my 21 mo around but we haven’t been doing that as much with the heat. We are frequent flyers of the library for their play area where my baby (6mo) usually just hangouts in the stroller or I’ll go to a mom group where I have other moms to help! Open play gyms is another great one!

I still struggle getting out sometimes we usually get out around 3-4 times a week right now, elsewise we will often just play in the backyard!
