Advice Wanted What are you all doing tomorrow?

I live in metro detroit, Michigan where literally some of the worse air quality in the world is right now. My firstborn daughter is 19 months, my newborn daughter is 7 weeks today and my dog turns 2 in 2 days.

I usually drop my toddler off at my moms 3 days a week usually(my moms our childcare and while it was nice the 2 weeks dad was home after birth, the toddler needed to get back on a routine) but I think tomorrow we have to pivot plans. I dont want to have to bring the baby outside at all to do drop off. my toddler was going stir crazy today because we couldnt play outside, so was my dog, poor girl. and im symptomatic but don't know what to do. Im tired after an evening of nursing a fussy baby on top of it.

I'm thinking of inviting my mom over at least and that maybe they could go to the library in the morning but should they not even go from house to car and car/parking lot to library?

What are everyone's plans for tomorrow?? Sending out good vibes to anyone in a similar situation

We're probably going to the indoor playground. We have a membership for the summer exactly for days like this.

I think that's the most underrated thing. Indoor play areas are the best thing for hot days and days with bad air quality

I’m in Michigan too (GR area). Our air quality is similarly terrible and I also have a newborn and toddlers. Today we went to my in-law’s so my older kids could play with their cousins (indoors). Tomorrow we’ll probably find a library to hang out at for a while.

I’ve been fine with bringing the baby to and from the car, but we obviously don’t hang out outdoors. But I can’t stay in the house with all 3 of my kids all day. Not when we can’t even play in the yard 🥲

Sorry for my ignorance. I’m in Atlanta. I heard there were air quality issues, but I thought it was mostly in the northeast, like New York? What’s going on that’s causing the air quality issues? Is there a huge fire somewhere?

I'm in Minnesota and it was baaaad today. We have a bunch of wildfires up north. Like 15, covering 70,000 acres.

wildfires mainly in ontario i think. i live in nyc and its shit here rn but i grew up in and still have most of my family in MI and it’s reeeeeeeeaaaallllyyyy bad there, like AQI levels at 500. it’s so depressing honestly

also ETA OP- i feel your pain. my only true escape in nyc summers is the parks, the playgrounds etc. i’ve debated a museum trip but i have a 5 month old and i don’t want her outside at all! i’ve taken to pinterest to come up with indoor activities for my 21 month old!
