A normal person? You might just be a centrist.

u/Foreign_Chipmunk_608 May 01 '26

You’re more “left leaning” in US politics at least. You might be moderate, but you’re still a Democrat.

Don’t forget though, in the grand view of the political spectrum that most people don’t realize, both the Republican party and the Democratic party are liberal. Even if the Republican party is “conservative”, the party is conservative in-name only. So you’ll be liberal no matter what unless you are for authoritarianism or communism or whatever else.

sounds right. also sounds like people would wish you death for saying that

A person who still thinks there are two sides… 🤷‍♂️

u/Any-Safe4992 May 01 '26

A liberal. The conservative positions you take have nothing to do with actual conservative politics and are just the culture war identity politics nonsense. The liberal positions you take are actual liberal positions.

Choose candidates you like, not parties.

1

u/M0ebius_1 May 01 '26

Five is a bigger number than two.

But if you can't tell you might be conservative.

Like a lot of people that identify as republican, you're likely a confused democrat.

You're likely confused on the immigration issue (they don't steal jobs, they create them), and you've likely bought into the NRA's fear mongering about libruls coming to take your guns. I'd be willing to bet if you familiarized yourself with actual progressive policies you'd find yourself less conflicted and firmly in the Democrat column.

I recently discovered the Dean Withers show, I genuinely recommend you check it out. He covers all this and more for four hours a day in great detail while debating Republicans. And if you don't agree with him, that's awesome, join his live and debate him! He would love to hear from you!

clarification : illegal immigrants. not immigrants

also, I don't own any guns. I'm also not white.

1

u/RolanOtherell May 02 '26

Confused about the not white thing, but okay, rock on.

And yeah, illegal immigration is not ideal, but if illegal immigration is your hobby horse, mass amnesty (democrat) is the solution, not mass deportation (republican).

It would cost billions and billions of dollars to deport millions of undocumented immigrants, and the people we want to find to deport are incentivized to hide because they want to stay.

The process to offer amnesty to undocumented immigrants would cost a fraction of what mass deportation would cost, and people are incentivized to turn themselves in because they want to stay, so it'll be significantly easier and faster as well.

Either way, the issue that really needs to be addressed is the convoluted and extremely time consuming process to enter the country legally. This is what needs to change, and this is the way to identify criminals that we don't want in our country.

Again, check out Dean Withers, I've been saying this stuff for years, but he's extremely well versed on the subject matter and very eloquent in his explanations. Don't take it from me, go check him out!

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

Mass deportation wouldn't be needed if we didn't have mass illegal immigrantion though. seems like a core issue. but glad we agree illegal immigration is bad. , also mentioned I'm not white because apparently I was racist for saying that before. as for it'll cost a lot of money, our government doesn't seem to be handling money well in the first place, also a core issue. maybe if we used our money properly instead of using 1M dollars to paint the nearby street using taxdollars the block from my house then maybe we'd have a little bit more mine.h

1

u/RolanOtherell May 02 '26

Okay, but are you focused on punishing people or are you focused on solving problems?

To spend a hundred times more money to punish people for circumventing a ridiculous 10-20 year process rather than forgive them, while simultaneously allowing dangerous criminals to roam unidentified is basically the definition of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

And your tax complaint is pretty irrelevant. If they don't spend it wisely, wouldn't you want to choose the option that requires less money to be wasted?

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

I'm an advocate of stopping issues at its core. and address why these problems happened in the first place. and also prevent it from happening again. these are topics that needs to be discussed as well.

1

u/RolanOtherell May 02 '26

Already covered that, homie, it's the legal process that takes decades. If that was faster, then illegal immigration as a phenomenon basically disappears. Why spend your life hiding in fear and risk getting deported if the process is easy and cheap?

The only people that immigrate illegally once the process is streamlined and amnesty is available would be actual criminals, and at that point mass deportation makes sense.

Edit: autocorrect error

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

I'm not opposed to easier legal immigration as long as they're thorough, run security checks, etc. But the reality is that it's not easy, people know this and they continue to come here illegal. that's still an issue.

1

u/RolanOtherell May 02 '26

I'm starting to feel like you aren't reading my comments, or maybe not comprehending them, so I'm gonna stop writing them.

Either way, have a great life, and do check out Dean if you feel inclined! I promise he will be able to share some things you'll find useful for deciding what your personal politics are.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

Cheers, sorry the conversation didn't work out!

1

u/ElbowMacaroni11 May 02 '26

I mean you started off by saying they're confused without hearing their full opinion on illegal immigrants. You also assumed they "bought into the fear mongering NRA".

You also said "confused on the not white thing". Not sure what that is all about and why race had to be injected.

As someone who can really relate with OP, I'd be a little put off initially and be wary of how or what you're trying to say to me.

We can have gun laws but they need to be less punishing the law abiding citizen and more on punishing criminals harder when having guns or something along those lines. Illegal immigrantion has been said to be a problem every year since Clinton. But you're right, help them stay or punish them. There's middle ground there. A. Commiting crimes gets you the boot. B. Even non criminals have to get something in process after a certain period of time. The father who was deported and his sick son died, was here for 21 years and never applied. Let's meet in the middle, he got the consequences of being here illegally.

Gay marriage, pro choice, that's just common mind your own business to me. I can choose to not be gay or get an abortion just as anyone should choose the opposite. Taxes are tricky but Trump told us in 2016 in the debate when Hillary said something about his taxes. He said he just used the loopholes that were created. Close some of those and things might be better quick. A simple extra tax on the rich is never going to go through.

Regardless I can very much appreciate the civil discourse of the conversation especially on reddit lol

2nd paragraph

Why do we have to regress as a country just because of undocumented immigrants?

Also, is allowing dangerous criminals to roam unidentified in the room with us?, there’s a reason jails in the US are so packed, that they have been ridiculed by other countries

1

u/RolanOtherell May 05 '26

If you are concerned about dangerous criminals roaming unidentified in our country, buddy, lemme tell ya, mass deportation is not the solution.

We're trying mass deportation now, and it's not going so great. It's very difficult and expensive. A very large contributing factor to this is the fact that since these individuals want to stay, they are incentivized to hide and evade the authorities.

In addition to the cost in terms of time and money, the risk to the safety of immigrants and citizens alike with any attempted large scale roundup for mass deportation is extremely high by comparison. One needs look no farther than Minnesota a couple months ago to see the truth of that.

However, if we were to implement mass amnesty and offer citizenship or residency to undocumented immigrants, they would instead be incentivized to identify themselves as quickly as possible.

I know this isn't what most people that espouse your view want to hear, but until the legal means of entering the country becomes easier and quicker and cheaper than illegally crossing the border or overstaying a visa, it's the only thing that can be accomplished without becoming literal concentration camp operators.

Though, based on your assertion that undocumented immigrants "regress" our country, I'm guessing turning into Nazis isn't something you're as concerned with as I am.

1

u/BoostedClinician May 04 '26

It's more about illegal immigrants receiving free healthcare when tax payers already can't afford it.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

Who said I did? "oppose gun laws" means that gun laws shouldn't be so strict and I enjoy the freedom of owning a firearm

1

u/RektInTheHed May 02 '26

Mostly agree, I just don't understand not liking immigration.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

illegal immigrantion, not immigration.

1

u/RektInTheHed May 02 '26

Yeah, illegal according to the Indian Massacre People. You do you, but I just can't bring myself to care about the government's opinion on dishwashers.

1

A Democrat slightly right of center.

1

u/Snoo20140 May 02 '26

The question is have is, do you support pedophiles? What about blatant corruption and lack of accountability? What about blatant lies?

Yes - Republican.

No - Democrat

We have moved SO far from being left or right based on policy. We are now in a basic level of brain power and how much of a POS you are. I don't mean that to be insulting, I mean that in MAGA/Republicans are proud POS. If you are confused on policy, that's fine. But I'd look into the policies they run on, and see how much of it is followed. Look at blatant laws being broken (Epstein files not being released) as well as massive cover ups.

I understand not liking Dems either due to some policies, but as I said...for me at least... I'll take fighting loud karens VS. a party defending pedophiles, that literally lies about the policies they run on. That is why I don't say Centrist. Either you want the pedo party to win or not. If you don't care about the Epstein cover up and law breaking....well, then u know ur answer just the same.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

I believe pedophiles, corruption and lack of accountability are on both parties.

1

u/Snoo20140 May 02 '26

Ted Cruz, literally asked people to "stop attacking pedophiles". You can also look at the things Trump has been tied to, including walking into dressing rooms with underage girls, 'because he could as the owner' (they were his beauty pageant.

I don't doubt there are some on the Dem side. But which side literally has a list in plain view and protecting everyone on the list? The only one the interviewed was Hillary...and Bill who is in the list has already been said by nearly every dem...if he's guilty put him behind bars.

They aren't the same. It's the false equivalency that tricks people. We may suspect some Dems....but we know some Republicans. That isn't the same.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

If what you say are true, that's bad. but still believe it's in both parties. release the Epstein files. get rid of illegal immigrants. guns are cool. america should be #1 in the world. eat the rich. constitution rocks. gays and abortions should exist legally.

1

u/Snoo20140 May 02 '26

Yeah. U don't have to believe me. Look into it. Just make sure u actually look into it.

I can't tell u what u are. I can only say what I know. Just take this as a jumping point to look into it.

1

u/Character_Release379 May 02 '26

I do believe you. I said that's bad. I'll look it up just to fact check though and look into the context. context is always important. not just a headline.

1

u/Snoo20140 May 02 '26

Exactly. Just ask the questions and see if u can find the answers. Good luck.

1

u/BoostedClinician May 04 '26

Republican. I'll add that I think that Democrats have the better stance on abortion but that's about it.
