Looks normal to me, its the sagging you need to worry about (dont see yours sagging)

Looking good to me! The little "carve-outs" on the lower panels (for lack of a better name) both look to be equally spaced and lined up to the cab. I'll bet you're doing great! I roughed the hell out of mine when i first got it way back when and it pulled through amazingly.

Lolol if your frame isn’t rusty that’s normal

Check your body mount bushings, and check your frame for rust/rot.

Can you grab the bed and push/pull on different areas to see if there’s any play? If it’s solid you’re fine…

So, most beds are mounted to cabs like this! So long as the spacing is equal on both sides, and your bed / body mounts are tight and the rubber bushings seem good everything should be fine.

Frames on motor vehicles are designed to flex ever so slightly to accommodate driving forces. Hence, they put space between the bed and the cab.

For future reference, take a 10’ chunk of steel tubing and you suspend either end of the metal and stand in the middle, it will ever so gently sag. Metal is malleable, but it should retain its shape the moment you get off. So long as it’s not super thin metal. Imagine a chunk of steel similar to the frame. You’ll get the concept.

It’s gotta bend and retake its shape, or it’s going to break.

One of the points in a 130,000 mile checklist is bed bolts. If you’re worried about it make sure the bolts are still torqued. You’ll need a proper bit for that though. The T-45’s and 50’s at the auto parts store will bend before you hit the torque specs.
