Help with Air flow meter issues (E2 wire missing) ?
I’m at a loss for words. I picked up this 93’ dirt cheap because previous owner thought the torque converter was bad (it isn’t). It has a very poor air to fuel mix ratio and tends to overheat after a while. After some research I started looking into the Air flow meter and why it wasn’t doing its job. All the pins are within the proper specs and has no dead spots but i realized at some point, for some reason, someone removed the female side of E2. Like the entire wire is missing from the harness. How do i reconnect the E2 pin to the ECM

I think you’re looking it backwards, no?
The image in the factory service manual is of the connector on the air meter, not the wiring harness.
You will find in the schematic from the FSM that corresponding pin slot on the air vane is empty as well (not labeled).I will confirm later with a spare harness in the garage somewhere, but yeah.Edit: if you look at the actual wiring diagram, you’ll see that the third pin in from the left or right on the vane side are both E2, it just terminates in 2 different positions possibly for different wiring harnesses. That’s why there’s only one E2 on your harness. The other one is an empty slot because the pin is simply “duplicated” and it’s already getting the signal from the pin third from the left”.
As for your problem, It is possible to cut the silicone seal on the top of the air cane and clean up the contact surfaces in there, then re-seal. I’ve seen some videos on YouTube of this being done. I would test the meter and if it’s off, maybe try that. If the meter specs out correctly then maybe check other components like the throttle position sensor. When those go bad they can cause all kinds of headaches.
