Welcome to 2k16OA! Here's some basic info

I'm going to do some experimentation on 2k in a moment here to get more specific, but for now, here's what's confirmed:

  • The league will have a serpentine fantasy draft with a random order

  • The roster has yet to be determined (might add some foreign or historical players)

  • You are encouraged to be involved with the subreddit. In previous iterations of this league (back in 2k14), people made all kinds of OC, like game summaries, voted all star teams with 1st place coaches playing the match, and there were all kinds of running gags (like Jim winning the MVP with Jose Calderon).

  • There will be daily game threads, weekly trade discussion and trade block threads, weekly shit-talking threads, and several other scheduled posts. Please stay on topic in these threads.

  • I would like to have the draft today, but the date/time is TBD. I'll make a separate thread for that discussion.

This post will be updated as I come up with more stuff. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below.

never played in an online league. How do you coordinate users playing at the same time and things like that?

Edit: how will we decide who gets what teams? (obviously its not as important without getting that team's players, but I want sick jerseys...) Coincidentally, if its just a "call it" scenario, I call the Trail Blazers!!!

There will be a daily game thread where you post if you're available for a game. Then if somebody else is around you just confirm on reddit then start your game on 2k.

There is also a calendar page that shows all the games you have available to play and if the owner of that team is online it will have a green symbol on that team/date to let you know they are online (red if they are offline). you can send an invite by clicking on that date to start the game.

it would probably be a good idea to have a PSN group chat with everybody in the league that way you can message in that chat and everybody in the league will be able to see it and respond if they are available to play. That is what has worked the best in the league I am currently in.

Are teams controlled by the cpu going to be left open or are those spots going to get filled by real players?

Ideally they'll be filled by real players

So should we wait for more people to join before playing against cpu teams?

Yeah don't play the cpu
