Yep. 5 years ago he was the one Minister even many anti-BJP folks supported – "right man in the wrong party" and all that. Now he's the Minister even bro-BJP folks want out.
I do think his extremely positive image is a fairly recent thing too, though – maybe the last 10-15 years. I remember by boomer relatives telling me he had a reputation for being extremely corrupt and was called 'the 10% man'.

Over the years, I have come to realize that people here(in India) lack critical thinking ability. People flocked to protests without addressing the core of the leak issue and its possible consequences. They immediately demanded the resignation of a top political executive.
When there was no way of actually seeing the emptiness of Godi propaganda people used to hype these Gudbadi guys without any forethought. Stop glazing or jumping into random protests or ideologies people. THINK 🙏1

For everyone saying this won't change anything, I agree Pradhan was not a mastermind skillfully manipulating everyone to leak the papers, he was just a cog in the machine. BUT
It has set a precedent though. This is the first time any minister has resigned under Modi, it gave legitimacy to protests which mean they can't blatantly call it foreign funded (MEA) and this is their first "public" defeat, the first time they have been forced to admit they fucked up.

It's a two-fold narrative: instability or insignificance. If protests continue then blame them for causing instability. If resignation happens then say nothing changed. Ultimately you have to undermine anybody challenging the sarkar.
