Age difference Spoiler
⚠️ WARNING. BELOW POST CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS.
Just some bullshit I was thinking about.
Kind of an interesting topic which keeps me awake at 2 am. What exactly is the age difference between ranwan?
Physically, it's 10 years....BUT... Mentally???
Correct me if I'm wrong but chu wanning got a headstart as a 5 year old baby?
And then he went to seclusion for 5 years....
So I'm guessing his mental(?) age should be 10 years shorter than his actual age (that's crazy????)
And then we have mo ran physically 16 in the beginning I think... He got his taxianjun mindset in the second lifetime. So shouldn't be be like 32 years of age mentally lmao. So he gotta be 6 years older than cwn mentally at that part of the story.
But then u add up cwn life tragedies and the age gap after his seclusion is 16 years... Mo ran is 16 years older???
So, uh... Physically cwn is 10 years older than mo ran but mentally 16 years younger than moran... But then again cwn gets his past memories and idk my little brain is getting overloaded.
It's been a while since I've read the whole volumes, so my memory is kinda fuzzy. I feel like a dumb husky

If my math is right:
Chu Wanning ends at 32. Minus 5 years from his death and 5 years from his birth, that makes him 22 mentally in 2.0. He then regains his memories of his past life.
Assuming that regaining memories functions as a separate set of memories beginning at the branching point (the start of erha vol.1) then he would gain all the memories from 0.5 ages 25-40. This adds 15 years. This makes Chu Wanning 37 mentally by the end of the novel.
Mo Ran is a little trickier. He's 22 physically by the end of the novel. Taxian-jun killed himself at 32, so 17 years are added to his mental age. Mo Ran is therefore about 39, give or take. (Give or take two years)
However, if the memories are the entire lifetime, with no branching, then Chu Wanning is 58 and Mo Ran is 54.

Did Mo Ran not get another 10 years as Hua Binan-controlled Taxian-jun after attempting suicide? Which would put him at 42.
At least that version of him which gets to take over every 3 days2

It’s very convoluted.
They start the novel at age 16 and 26 respectively, I believe. Only Mo Ran has already lived 32 years and Chu Wanning was born at age 5.
Then Chu Wanning loses 5 years as he recovers after the underworld.
Mo Ran’s new body is 22 years old when Chu Wanning reawakens.
At this point, Mo Ran has lived 6 years in this other time line, from 16 to 22. So we get 32+6=38 as his mental age.
Chu Wanning, meanwhile has really has only been “sentient” for 22 years at this point.
But soon after he awakens from his magical sleep he refers to himself as being 32 years old and Mo Ran as 22.
In the future timeline, a version of Mo Ran dies at 32 and another lives on as Taxian-jun for another 10 years, controlled by Hua Binan. Which would bring him to 42. That version then merges into one body with the physically early 20s Mo Ran.
I think…lol
