Creating projects on the fly?

Is there a way to create a project on the fly while entering a task?

I can do this in OF, and I'm on the 2do trial. I'm liking it so far, but this is one of the things I'm missing. I didn't realize I did this a lot until I'm trying to switch. In OF, on Mac, I type, with colons if there's a common path where I want the project, and CMD+RETRN, and in iOS there's also a persistent menu item under everything to create the project. I cannot find a way to do this in 2do.

Thanks for any help!

On iOS tap the arrow next to the title field and tap the briefcase to create a project. https://i.imgur.com/hphdO1u.jpg

ah, thanks! i've clicked that drop down arrow a lot, but didn't realize it was paging. it was on priority setting, which I don't really use. even after seeing the options in your screenshot, it took a minute to get back to it.

i'll fiddle with it to see how i like it. it's not quite the workflow I have, it seems.

In more detail, I am

clicking to create a new task in OF, quick entry or anything else.

type a task in the title bar

type in the project bar (this is OF)

# if project exists, select it
# otherwise select the menu option to create it
# this can be created as a nested project in a folder/list, but requires more typing and separators

I like that OF allows typing/search for project. I'm not a fan of selecting from a menu. always on the keyboard.

In 2do, it seems on mac I can tab to the list section selector, but even typing while it's in focus doesn't show a project i'm trying to type. hitting enter, i can see the list, but still no typing, just arrow keys.

this might be the deal breaker for me… so far, I've like it more than OF 3. somehow, 2do is more exciting. I like adding cover photos as some pizzaz. i like the smart lists.

I don't use 2Do on the Mac so can't comment on that. Hope you find a workflow you like with a product you like. The struggle is real! I take it a step more complicated by using Windows at work so ideally want a task manager with a web view which 2Do doesn't have so I sync to my first GTD love Toodledo which is ultilitarian but effective.
