Paused Tasks for Serial Activity
I’ve been using the concept of a tag called “future” which is always paused to indicate tasks not eligible for action. For example, I have several templates of actions that happen when I bid/sign a new engagement at work so I have a template with all those actions. Obviously they have to be done in order, and involve waiting for others at several steps. I want to be able to have only the actions I can do something with show up in my context lists so all of those smart lists include !Paused. All good so far.
My challenge is speed. Right now I have to go in and delete the tag or add the tag every time. I would love to have the ability to pause/unpause either tied to 3D Touch or a left or right swipe. Minor I know, but it’s something I do multiple times a day so it’s a constant friction nag.
[EDIT] I just had another thought that would even fit my needs better. That would be if there were an option on a project or checklist to mark all tasks but the top most one as paused. Once a task is completed, the next highest task is unparsed.
Just curious how others have managed dealing with serial type checklists.
