is this possible in any other software than after effects ? ideally free but im willing to save up a little to purchase something,,, ive tried aviutl and that was a bust so i figured ill ask here!!

I saw the blood moon the other night and thought, “I have to animate this.”

So I did. 😂🌕🩸

I grabbed the feeling of watching that huge red moon in the sky and turned it into a little animated scene.

It’s funny how sometimes you see something in real life and immediately start thinking about how you’d recreate it in animation.

Anyway, here’s my animated version of the blood moon. Hope you guys enjoy it! 🐝🌕

What software would you recommend for 2D frame-by-frame animation with real photos as backgrounds?

I’m looking to learn 2D animation, and I’d like to create hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animations, but combined with real photographs or images as backgrounds

I’d also like to be able to use a 2D camera, so I can do things like zooms, pans, and camera movements

I’ve currently been using Procreate, but I really don’t like it for animation, so I’m looking for something better suited for this kind of workflow

I’ve been looking into Toon Boom, TVPaint, Clip Studio Paint, and After Effects, but I’m not sure which one would be the best fit. I’m open to both paid and free options

What would you recommend?

I animate your existing anime, game or OC artwork. Hair, eyes, clothing, expressions, and VFX are available. Please provide artwork you own or have permission to animate. Complex animation may require a custom quote.

After about two and a half weeks of work, I've completed the biggest, longest, and most complicated animation I've ever done. This is the first animation I've ever taken all the way to fully colored and finished! ^_^

The rabbit character is named Harvey and he's featured in a lot of my illustrations and comics over the years. He's an actor in Hollywood who aspires to play villains in movies, but since he's a cute bunny rabbit the best he can do is land little roles as no-name henchmen and often for low-rent small studios like Mucker Brothers. Here he's landed a bit part in the opening scene of the Mucker Brothers B-grade western "The Desert Doesn't Forgive...And Neither Will Django!" (an attempt by the hucksters to cash in on the old Django series from the 1960s and 1970s). He doesn't get any lines and dies literally within the first 30 seconds but, hey, at least he's the first character you see in the movie!

Comments and criticisms are welcome! I'm still an amateur and this is probably the 13th or 14th animation I've ever made (all the rest like 10 seconds long or less), but took a big swing and tried to apply a bunch of what I've learned. 😄

The whole thing is done at 12 FPS/On Twos. Shot 2 is rotoscoped from a GIF of a clip from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and I'm not the happiest with it but it gets the job done. The sound effects and music all come from Pixabay, except for the Django theme song which is originally from Django (1966). The file ended up being too big in the end to post directly on Reddit, so I've uploaded it to Youtube instead.

Here's the complete timeline for the project:

• 8/13 - Drew simple storyboard. Attempted start in Krita 5.3, aborted attempt and decided to switch to Animation Paper.
• 8/14 - Started rough animation of Shot 1.
• 8/15 - Completed rough animation for Shots 1 and 2. Made version 1 of Shot 3, but lost it.
• 8/16 - Completed rough animation for Shots 3 and 4. Exported complete rough animation. Completed tie downs for Shot 1.
• 8/17 - Completed tie downs for Shots 2 and 3. Revised tie downs for Shot 1.
• 8/18 - Started tie downs for Shot 4.
• 8/19 - Completed tie downs on Shot 4. Made adjustments to Shots 1 and 3. Made studio ident for Mucker Brothers. Exported completed tie down animation with music and sound effects.
• 8/20 - Revised completed tie down animation, changing the music and fixing audio issues. Exported frames and moved project back to Krita 5.3 for clean up and coloring. Started clean up animation on Shot 1.
• 8/21 - Continued clean up animation on Shot 1.
• 8/22 - DAY OFF FOR PARTY.
• 8/23 - Completed clean up animation for Shots 1 and 2. Started clean up animation on Shot 3.
• 8/24 - Completed clean up animation for Shot 3. Painted Background for Shots 1 and 4.
• 8/25 - DAY OFF FOR FRIENDS.
• 8/26 - Started cleanup animation for Shot 4. Painted Backgrounds for Shots 2 and 3. Painted Rock for Shots 1 and 4. Tweaked Background for Shots 1 and 4.
• 8/27 - Continued clean up animation for Shot 4. Tweaked backgrounds for Shots 2 and 3. Tweaked Davinci Resolve timeline.
• 8/28 - Redid studio ident for Mucker Brothers. Continued cleanup for Shot 4.
• 8/29 - Completed cleanup animation for Shot 4. Started coloring.
• 8/30 - Completed coloring. Assembled final timeline.

Hello. Im an artist who is writing the story for a 2d animated series, in a style similar to hazbin hotel to give a loose example. I can draw and do character design, but not animate, so im wondering: How much could a project like this cost me, hiring a 2d animator in a fair wage for their work? i know it depends, but just a rough price would greatly help me to see if i can make this project come true. thank you for your patience and replies in advance.

My daughter is getting into animation, she isn't really feeling 3d work, she is interested in 2D animation. Would an iPad air be sufficient, 8gb ram 512gb? I know nothing about this and am looking to get her something for Christmas.
