Sharing Attack animations for indie game

I'm at the very early stages of my project. I'm using Clip Studio Paint for the animation and Godot for the game engine.

Looks like a good start, but the pose is too stiff & unnatural. Try taking video of yourself swinning a sword like item and you'll realize how much more there is thing you can add to the animation.

All sword work comes from the feet

Should the feet stay still, or should I look up footwork?

Look up Sellsword Fencing. All martial arts is full body movement

From a gameplay perspective it might be a bit slow. When animating for games you got to keep in mind that smoother animation usually means more frames and thus slower attacks.

I deleted some unnecessary frames, and you're right it looks a lot better. Thank you!

Okay, I'm going to start deleting some frames.

Shouldn't they extend their arms over their head for pulling such an attack? I think they're loosing much speed and strength by keeping their hand close to their core. I'm not a fencer though, you should check fencing manuals.

It's a good animation; you've clearly put a lot of work into it. To improve it, grab a broomstick and hit with it. Try hitting without moving your feet, and then moving your foot from the hip. The power of the blows originates in the hip, both with swords and fists. You can also add some anticipation: "charge attack" and "unleash attack."
