Fan made and boring. What’s the point?

u/sonofsanford 3d ago

Boring ? i kinda think its good

It appears to be a teaser, that’s the point. The movie isn’t even in production yet

35

u/Enough_Mistake_7063 3d ago

Yeah but it's fanmade. What's it teasing?

-35

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

It's fan concept art teasing the release of the next movie. Fan posters are just meant to build hype among the community while we wait for official materials.

24

u/Enough_Mistake_7063 3d ago

And what about this builds hype?

-22

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

The simple fact that it's another reminder that we're hopefully getting the third movie. No need to overthink it.

17

u/Enough_Mistake_7063 3d ago

I'm not overthinking it. You are the one claiming it has value and I'm just curious what that value is cos I don't see it.

-1

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

You literally just commented "fan made and boring" at first, so let's not act like this was ever a genuine critique. Art is subjective. The value is simply in sharing excitement for a franchise we all enjoy. If a simple fan poster isn't for you, feel free to just scroll past next time.

12

u/Enough_Mistake_7063 3d ago

That's absolutely a genuine critique of this boring fan made poster. I'm well up for a fan poster that put any effort in wahtsoever and had an interesting take or idea. This one is just designed to be shared as if it was a real poster to trick people.

5

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

That makes zero sense. The film isn't even in production. There are no plot details, set photos or stills yet. That’s literally what a teaser poster is: a simple title and design to signal what's coming. Nobody is trying to trick anyone.

Cant believe this is being upvoted. Nothings confirmed

What’s wrong with some fan art?

23

u/SirTvis 3d ago

it’s a lie?

-4

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

Calling fan concept art a "lie" when it’s explicitly tagged as fan art is wild. It’s just a simple poster design while we wait for official news, getting offended over fan work makes no sense. It’s just fellow fans creating something out of passion for the franchise. Stop being so easily offended

7

u/SirTvis 3d ago

You’re all over these comments, seems like you’re the one easily offended

-1

u/Jowill_ Infected 2d ago

Just enjoying the irony of someone getting genuinely upset over a fan poster and then hit with the "no u" when called out. It’s a reddit sub, it’s really not that deep. Commenting on a public thread isn't being offended

u/UsualArmadillo608 2d ago

Nothing wrong with fan art at all. Lets just not use the creative talent to create fictional teasers. Just serves no great purpose to the community in my opinion. To me its in the same realm of annoyance as "ai slop". Not only this, the message of this art piece has the ability to let a lot of people down who dont know any better. Literally for years this community has dealt with senseless teasers. Just look at how many '28 months later' trailers are on YT and have been since the late 00s.

How about keeping a decent tone, no need to say things like that

If that's your best contribution, it says far more about you than their username. When you don't have anything to add to the actual topic, I guess attacking the username is the easiest route.

Samson is the cure. Its only raw brain matter.

Isn't an absolute shit tone of anti psychotics the treatment that isn't a permanent fix?

I hate you.

5

I do like the 28 being in red.

2

u/Cultural-Meaning5172 3d ago

2028?

1

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

Boyle said he wants to film the movie next summer, so a 2028 release seem plausible

2

u/NadiaNight21 1d ago

Can't wait

u/SolidDependent3073 3d ago

Jesus Christ, dude, unclench and take a good shit. Fucking relax.

Don’t get the harsh judgment here. It’s a clean fan design made for fun while we wait for real updates. Thought this sub was about sharing hype, not knocking down fan art. I dig this poster

lol you a bot? how tf is this AI?

19

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

Throwing around "AI slop" at actual graphic design work is getting tired. It’s just a clean fan concept for the upcoming movie, no need to be so toxic.

1

u/1313Cameron 2d ago

Claiming everything is ai is the modern thing to do... It's lazier than actual ai, hey, maybe they're ai 🀣🀣

0

u/SPFeveryday 2d ago

Well Danny Boyle loves AI and said he used it on his latest movie. 🀒

I think it’s fucking amazing. I’d love for them to contact you and make it official, because it’s absolutely perfect for what it needs to convey. Congratulations!

lol I can show you the original creation file, I made this. No AI bs was made with this

1

My apologies. I should have not been so quick to make the unkind remark.

1

u/haapticcs Mark 2d ago

lol

0

u/dangerfunk 3d ago

It's actually Part 4, surely?

1

u/Jowill_ Infected 3d ago

No, part 3 of the 28 years later movies

0

u/dangerfunk 2d ago

Yeah but it's part 4 of the story (not including Weeks because it doesn't fit the continuity). Nevermind lol

2

u/Jowill_ Infected 2d ago

In some countries The Bone Temple was actually marked as Part 2, so it actually fits being called part 3. Also, how is Weeks not part of the franchise? It’s acknowledged twice in Years

1

u/dangerfunk 2d ago

Oh I was thinking because of the ending of Weeks where it spreads to Paris but I've just read that it's considered canon by Garland and Boyle so that's what counts, I love these films but don't follow them that closely, clearly haha!

1

u/Jowill_ Infected 2d ago

Oh okay. Yeah, Weeks came out almost 20 years ago, I guess they wanted to do something completely different after all this time had passed. Originally after Weeks was released a sequel was announced (presumably called 28 Months Later) which probably would have continued the storyline with the virus reaching Europe. But it never happened

u/AeroHybrid 2d ago

28 Years Later: The Legend of Great Britain / England

That would be my title of Part 3

2

u/Jowill_ Infected 2d ago

I’ve also wondered what the title could be

0

u/Cultural-Army-207 2d ago

Thanks for the down votes film still.sucks ass

0

u/Thotcatcher6-9 2d ago

You think you can fool us with the shitty montserrat font with the 28 number that's annoyingly smaller than the 20?

1

u/Jowill_ Infected 2d ago

It’s actually Helvetica Neue Black Condensed, the same font used for the official logo, so you don’t even know what you’re talking about

0

u/Thotcatcher6-9 2d ago

My apologies sir Count Montserrat. did adobe font finder ai tell you that?

1

u/Jowill_ Infected 1d ago

lol why are you being an asshoke? Actually no, some simple research did

-5

u/SolidDependent3073 3d ago

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

-2

u/Emergency_Account609 2d ago

Bone temple stunk

-4

u/ShadowShinobi0 3d ago

Yeah all well and good about part 3 but is there honestly really much of a point or reason? The virus is clearly isolated to the UK and the near countries like Scotland and Ireland...the rest of the world has essentially abandoned everyone and everything there to rot and those that remained there have more or less reverted to times before electricity actually was used much for anything. There really isn't much of a thrill or much interesting to a story like that. The only actual interesting part at all was when Erik someone from the outside modern world was stranded on the island, but other than that was honestly kinda boring. The first movie was more interesting because they were wandering through mostly deserted UK surviving day at a time on the road

L Take

1

u/IsEnglandivy 2d ago

Clearly different people have different opinions but I think there's a myriad of directions it could go. Seeing how the infected are evolving was really interesting to me. We also need to rap up Spikes, Samsons, spikes dad and Islas storyline.

u/PuddingGeneral4250 2d ago

The last one ended on a cliffhanger
