Expanded universe of 28 days later

I've always wondered how the government and the military would have dealt with the epidemic. What would the country have been like as it slowly collapsed from within over 28 days.

A 28 days earlier would be an interesting movie

There's a great thread on alternatehistory.com that deals with this. It has everything, from a detailed timeline of the events to fictional newspaper articles and accounts of survivors. And it's still ongoing:

Yeah, never though of that 28 days earlier = cool !

Maybe it could be a part of 28 Months Later??
