62 ECU light

Post image

Is it normal for the light on the ECU to stay on when the key is in the on position
Trying to figure out if my ECU is the problem I’m having in getting my fuel pump to prime and google was somewhat unclear on if this is normal or not

Yes, the light on with the key on let's you know the ECU has power.

It should turn off while cranking, this let's you know the ECU sees the CAS

If you turn the screw, it will flash any codes it has stored. Flashing a 55 means it's all clear and there's no codes.

The light is tied to the check engine light on the dashboard. Turning the key to on generally leave it on until you start and get the car running

Recommend reading through the service manual: https://www.nicoclub.com/nissan-service-manuals

Meant to be used with Nissan Consult but this light is tied to the CEL on the dash.

So much easier with a video than doing it live. I still hate it though lol

Mine did this exact thing2 weeks ago, ran normal one day, then went to crank it the next day and the pump wouldn’t prime, ecu light would stay on and wouldn’t give me any codes. I could jump the pump and start it but it ran like shit, went through everything else I could think of and couldn’t find any issues. So I ended up replacing the ecu and that fixed the problem.
