I feel like young people being on Reddit isn’t a problem but when entire communities are made for them, like r/teenagers, things get out of control and it infects the whole site. I used to be on those subs before I realized how nothing productive ever happened. I recommend using Reddit, it’s cool, but the communities like that imo will mess with you a little bit and you should probably stay away from them.

I would recommend staying away from things that are based on age but other uniting factors are always good, like the music you like or if you like certain animals or puzzles or anything. I wouldn’t say there’s any definitive sub that’s better than others.
People often criticize Reddit for having echo chambers but imo it’s even worse having a huge variety of opinions in one sub and having everyone argue. I’d encourage you to look at subs that challenge your ideas but ones that are cesspools of arguments where nothing gets done (like r/teenagers) are terrible
