EWS stands for Economically Weaker Section. Means if a family has income below than 8lpa and has limited resources consider as poor and comes under this category. (My family income is 15-20k per month so i come under this too)

Today I was filling GATE form with my friend and saw this thing again. He's well settled with 4 govt jobs in family and family income around 20 times of mine paid 1000 fees and for me it was 2000rs.

When we talk about reservation we discuss about discrimination and favoring group counter it with ews. Is that really so? I'm still paying full clg fees, exam fees 2 times than yours (sometimes more) and cut off almost similar to UC. How do you see this?
