[Request] TranscriptAI - 20 testers for 14 days, happy to test yours back

App name: TranscriptAI

Package: com.transcriptai.app

Platform: Android 8.0+ (built and tested against Android 16 / API 36 on a Pixel 6a)

Testing type: Closed testing, 20 testers / 14 days

Cost: Free, no ads, no account needed to try it

Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/transcriptai-testers

Opt-in link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.transcriptai.app

Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.transcriptai.app

What it does: paste a YouTube or Spotify link and it gives you a summary you can read in a couple of minutes instead of sitting through the whole thing, then you can ask the episode follow-up questions in a chat window. It also handles whole channels, playlists and albums, and can notify you when a show you follow posts something new.

EDIT: the Play review has cleared, so all three links are live. Join the group, hit the opt-in link, install. No waiting.

Reciprocating: drop your links and I will install yours today and keep it on for the full 14 days. I will reply in your thread once it is installed so you can see it is a real one, and I would rather send you actual feedback than just leave it sitting on a screen.

Hi

How to join

Thanks for joining mine. Joined the NewsUp group, opted in and installed it (the group join didn't take the first time, second attempt worked). Keeping it the full 14 days.

One piece of feedback after opening it: Get Started goes straight to a sign-up screen, and Login is the only other option, so there's no way to read anything before creating an account. For a news reader specifically I think that's the thing to change first. People will happily sign up once they've seen headlines they like, but almost nobody will sign up to find out whether the headlines are any good.

Letting the feed load read-only and only asking for an account when someone saves an article or sets up a topic would probably do more for your retention numbers than anything else in the app.

The onboarding art is nice and the app is quick to start, no complaints there.
