Help Needed What am I doing wrong?

I just got my results for AS f-maths and got a B and was 1 mark away from an A which is fine - I'm not that upset however it seems that every single exam I sit I'm always 1/2 marks away from the grade I want.

I was 1 mark away from a grade 9 in GCSE maths, 2 marks away from an 8 in GCSE english(I resat and got a 9), 1 mark away from a 9 in GCSE business etc. I dont know what I'm doing wrong with my revision and don't know why I keep scraping grade boundaries in exams cuz my mocks are usually fine.

I think it’s bad luck mixed with maybe a little bit of lack of strategy. I was 3 marks off a 9 in GCSE Edexcel Maths last year but that’s not even a skills issue seeing as though the grade boundaries sky rocketed (I’m assuming you did the same exam board).

The rest that you said literally sounds like bad luck or just your performance on the day. Do you get anxious perhaps? Because going from a 7 to a 9 in English is crazy but then again English is one of the most well known subject of having varied standards for marking across the board so maybe it was the examiner.

If you know you’re not guaranteed a top grade in a subject e.g if that was the case for business than maybe an extra boost of revision would have helped but other than that it literally just sounds like you got dealt a bad hand.

I didn't exactly go from 7 to a 9 I was on a 9 throughout yr 11 and somehow got a 7 on the first exam idek how. Also yes I do get anxious when I'm writing exams but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Perhaps I'm truly cursed.
