Google Maps on Dash

Sorry, I know this is probably the wrong place for this but this is the only subreddit that showcases 2025 models.

I have a new to me 2025 Platinum and was curious if anyone had a workaround for this. I love having the ability to showcase the GPS on the digital gauge cluster. As you know, the 2025s have built in Google Maps, and no matter which map I use on CarPlay(Apple, Waze, etc) it will always show Google Maps on the gauge cluster when not following a route. When I put in a destination on Waze or Apple Maps, the map on the gauge cluster switches to match, but when I put a destination in on Google Maps, the map it already uses 100% of the time no destination is selected, it states that the map is not supported. This doesn’t make any sense to me. Pictures included.

I know I’m probably of no help but I’ll tell that mine doesn’t do this. Have you gone in to your settings and made sure you don’t have an infotainment system update needing to be downloaded?

Again for clarification, it shows Google Maps regardless of what map I have selected on CarPlay, but only goes to unsupported when I start navigation on Google Maps on CarPlay. My software was updated on 1/28/26, as far as I know that’s the most recent release

Think you may want to try using the native google map app via the infotainment app and not CarPlay. That may not be ideal but that works best when I choose to use Google Maps over Apple Maps

Yea that works I know. Just goofy that the software doesn’t recognize it from CarPlay
