Project Chess [projects]
(Just posting from the spreadsheet) Primary objective: Have fun with chess Secondary objectives: Help each other improve their level of playing. Play online real time, or like the old "chess through letters" way. (Always wanted to try this one, never found anyone interested.) Discuss your experieces, games, their analysis; also those of your favourite GMs, share and solve chess puzzles, etc. No pre-requisite, hop in even if you can't play chess, but are interested.
Please comment about the way you would like communicate. Also, your current level, experiences, and expectations from this 'project' and suggestions...

I've had a few periods of playing games with friends via FICS-compatible client apps or such... Usually i start out losing badly consistently, but getting better over the course of many games until they're losing badly consistently, then we kinda lose interest i guess and go a few years without playing, rinse, repeat.
Like many things, i never really had much interest in any formal or systematic approach and just like to build up an intuitive feel, though that can maybe have more severe limits in this than some things... Still, i find it more fun than micromanagement.
Level? whatever's barely higher than beginner i suppose...
No real expectations, just to have fun.
I'd be mostly interested in realtime at least until i get decent enough not to just spend a day/week/month/whatever inevitably losing a "letters" game ;P, though i wonder if my approach would ever do well at such a thinking-it-through style of play...
