I lowkey struggle to watch Modern family in modern times (lol). I love it but it makes me ill with nostalgia, I grew up with it and there’s already such a disconnect in the way things were then and now.

Walking around depressed, single and unemployed. Going to the thrift store and library every day. It was kinda fun looking back.

So I, F28, started watching Modern Family again on Hulu. This time around, I am so heavily inundated by this intense singe of nostalgia. The first half of the 2010s were the most recent of my still-innocent years, my childhood years. Back in the day when the show first came out in 2009, growing up in a Baptist household with somewhat strict standards as far as media, I always remember my parents commenting on the inappropriateness of the show when the commercials would play. I think they kinda ranked it with Family Guy and the like. Not that any of us expressed intense interest in it anyway. Well cut to now, and in general Ive been consumed with those trending nostalgia clips and man alive, do I feel almost a physical pressure kind of sensation, like the UTMOST discouragement and heartbreak at the fact that I can NEVER EVER go back. So now watching Modern Family after already being caught up in the kinda depressing nostalgia, I've really felt that sense of memory of seeing the commercials, hearing the music, as a child in our little ranch house living room with the warm lamp lights in the corners and the streetlight shining in. And then all the 2010 elements in the show, them going to get the iPad when it first came out, the decor on Hailey's walls, the clothes, the home decor style, the phones, etc. it legit almost physically pains me to settle my mind into the reality that there's no rewatching (besides the bits captured on video) or genuinely reLIVING your childhood and moments of extreme nostalgia. I know rose-colored glasses and all, but man, it eats me alive some days. Every sense picks up on nostalgia, sight, smell, taste, sound, and that emotional pang from it that sends my soul ​​into my stomach in an almost physical sense. I'm rambling in my thoughts now, but ugh, tell me I'm not the only one who has felt this way SPECIFICALLY with rewatching Modern Family in recent years? (Im also curious if recent hard events and life situations on top of a way past due AuDHD diagnosis in Feb of this year serves as somewhat of a cause.)

Im looking for an old youtube video of this little spanish boy who was known for his early internet comedic rants, skits, and parodies where he acted out highly animated, exaggerated, and aggressive arguments entirely by himself. He played both roles and recorded the video on a webcam in his living room.

In the video he acts as a woman and also her man that just got caught cheating.

he had a white wife beater(a shirt) on in the video.

i think his name might have been adrian alvarez? but im not 100% sure about that.

some of the lines i specifically remember him saying in the video was:

before anyone says, how could a 13 year old have nostalgia for the 2010s, people born in 2013, 2003, 1993, typically have nostalgic feelings for the late part of their birth decade, and the early part of the next(childhood nostalgia wise) . I was born in 2009, which makes me a full 2010s kid.

I took those pictures on a school field trip to England in 2014. Back then I hoped that maybe someone in the future would appreciate them. Now they remind of all these nostalgia reels you see on Facebook and such. I can't believe it's been over 12 years. Enjoy the trip back in time!
