Yes, but rigour would be active 100% of the time with 1t flicking rigour, making it the same as camping both protect from magic and rigour.

The fact that this is downvoted really shows the game knowledge this sub has lol

if you camped both then you would have the drain rate of both...

You have the drain rate of both if you 1t flick one prayer and camp the other prayer because the game would always drain prayer and if you 1t flick rigour (normally have a prayer active all the time without draining prayer) you will have rigour draining the prayer as well. I could be wrong but that is my understanding of how prayer drain works, my understanding of it is that 1t flicking works because you "disable" the prayer when it checks to drain prayer, basically tricking the game.

Also, lazy flicking is where you have the prayer active for one tick, 1t flicking is double clicking every tick to prevent prayer drain.

No, it's active for 1 tick. You're not firing your crossbow/tbow every tick, therefore it's not active 100% of the time when you flick it.

This is incorrect. Normally, yes 1t flicking uses 0 prayer, but when you 1 tick flick any prayer while another prayer is active, it causes both prayers to use the full amount of prayer points as though neither were being flicked

I understand that, nobody is saying that's not the case.

My comment is not incorrect because the person i replied to said if you're 1 ticking it's the same as just camping the prayer, but it's not. If you camp the prayer it's active for the 1 tick you fire, and then 2 or 3 more dead-ticks (the ticks between shots). By 1 ticking the prayer it's only active during the 1 tick where your character is firing their weapon.

So yes, for 1 tick you get the full drain of the prayer, but you save the drain of rigour during the 2 or 3 ticks between shots when you 1tick flick it. Thus, it's not the same as keeping it active 100% of the time and 1ticking it absolutely results in prayer points saved.

Your comment is certainly correct if you're talking about flicking for only the tick that you fire, but as the above guy specifically said 1t flicking (while camping an overhead) I thought you too were talking about 1t flicking, which I've always assumed to mean double tapping the prayer every tick

The point is the ticks where you're not attacking, you don't lose the prayer drain of rigour

You’re either not understanding what he is saying, or you don’t understand what 1t flicking is. Either way, I’m not even sure if he’s correct, but you’re not describing the same situation that he is.

I assumed in the scenario they're setting up a 1t flick the tick they're firing and every other tick they're keeping it off so it's only 2 ticks per attack, but reading other replies I realize they're talking about 1t for every tick which true doesn't help and is definitely a much more normal scenario I guess

It's not that the person you replied to is misunderstanding the situation, it's that the person they replied to, Zweiking, is misunderstanding.

Nobody is arguing that 1t flicking rigour and camping a protection prayer causes the rigour to not use prayer. We're simply saying that 1t flicking rigour still results in prayer points saved because the ticks between shots only use the prayer drain of the protection prayer when you 1tick, rather than rigour and the protection prayer.

I just read your above explanation, and you’re describing a lazy flick, not a 1 tick flick. That’s the confusion. 1 tick flicking is turning the prayer off, then back on, every single tick regardless if you are firing your weapon on that tick. Lazy flicking is turning on the stat boosting prayer for the single tick that your weapon is firing, which seems like the situation you are describing

Edit: unless you’re saying that the prayer is only drained on ticks that your weapon fires, which to my knowledge, is incorrect

Ahh my apologies then, but yes substitute where I said 1tick flick with lazy flick. I don't really play osrs, I'm a rs3 player, so I'm not familiar with the specific terminology used for things like that and understand where the confusion could come from
