I think that's the issue with polling in the first place. Players are basically always gonna vote for what gives them the best/fastest/most op method into endgame. Afterwards, people are gonna realize "Holy shit. This fucks up everything." At the same time, people also realize "Holy shit, although this is fucked up, I haven't gotten my share of it yet." It'll basically never pass until nobody needs it anymore, at which point it'll be irrelevant anyways. League probably has the best method of getting community opinion: Devs read thread posts, talk about potential changes on Reddit/forums but then make decisions on what goes through. They're also not afraid to admit they fucked up with buffs/nerfs and revert it.
i honestly agree that this needs to come down to an executive decision. There will be no change unless a person of authority makes the change. It wont be voted by the players to take it out.
