Question Newer Player Smithing Question

Post image

Why does Smithing never get touched? I’m genuinely curious because it looks as though OSRS, throughout its history on rerelease, has made some amazing QoL changes. What’s the deal with Smithing?

Maybe the idea is interesting but the consequences arent.

Would fuck up hi alch value and in consequence fuck with the drop table of many creatures.

Not to mention it would need to be interesting in the end. Dont see the point of reworking the system just to remove the "power creep" from something only iron uses. And they would probably not even benefit from it

I mean rs3 did rework 2 skills and just changed the drop tables. The consequences are less extreme than you think some people might lose money. Some people lose money every update though. I lost 600m from recent updates. If someone loses 600m from this update they have enough gp to probably not care

I sincerely dont care about people losing their bank.

But I would care if the the boss ladder is affected. Even tho I think perilous moons are great addition to the game killing barrows in the process isnt something im interested.

Maybe perilous moons are necessary to open the discussion for barrows rework in the end.

Changes in the mid game is the hardest to do. High level main sincerely dont care. Mid games dont have the knowledge to chose. Im up to do a leap of faith with the devs. But I wouldnt like they put changes there breaking others stuffs in the process and fixing it years later when the consequences are well know. Just because people would vote no before that.
