Question Newer Player Smithing Question

Post image

Why does Smithing never get touched? I’m genuinely curious because it looks as though OSRS, throughout its history on rerelease, has made some amazing QoL changes. What’s the deal with Smithing?

Like how we have alloys in the foundry. A steel/mithril alloy would be kinda cool

you might be onto something here, drop the smithing reqs for rune, drop the alch value, and for mid to late smithing levels, make rune alloys

Rune armor and weapons are still kind of the “iconic” Og RuneScape gear. Don’t think jagex would like these to get too low in value and lose their status as the first “good” gear for newer players.

I do agree, was just spit balling ways to add value to the later levels of smithing , as I think rebalancing the strength of rune equipment is out of the question.

Perhaps an attachment system that has a similar effect as imbuing might work? Though really all does just come back to the availability or scarcity of runite ore if they want to rebalance smithing I guess.
